Q: QuestionConsidering getting this or the 4010. I am going to be using it for movie viewing in 4K HDR mostly, not for gaming. Would there be a big difference?
Asked by Nick.
- A:Answer The big difference is black levels. If you're going to watch movies in a completely light controlled room, then the 5050UB will be the better choice, otherwise save the $$$ and get the 4010. I have a 5050UB in a completely light controlled room and the blacks are great. But as soon as I open a door or allow light past my blacked out curtains, the black levels become mediocre.

Q: QuestionI need to run a 50' cable from projector to AV system. I know I need fiber optic, but what brand of cable have others successfully used? It sounds like this is an issue for a lot of people when I read reviews online for cables. Before I bury it in a wall
Asked by Bobscan.
- A:Answer I bought 2 30ft cables. One 8k and 1 4k. For 4k i purchased iBirdie 30 Feet HDMI 2.0 Fiber Optic Cable, 4K at 60Hz (4 4 4, Dolby Vision, HDR10, E-ARC) and 18Gbps for in-Wall Installation, One Direction. For 8k I purchased CABLEDECONN 8K HDMI Optic Cable Real UHD HDR 8K 48Gbps,8K@60Hz 4K@120Hz HDMI Fiber 10m 33ft Support 3D HDCP2.2 HDMI Cable for PS4 SetTop Box HDTVs Projectors. I checked connecting my computer monitor to these cables and they worked as expected without any issues. So I assumed they will work with my Epson 5050UB projector as well and the cables have been fished inside our media room wall. Within the next week I'll let you know how it works with the projector as my media room construction is nearing completion.

Q: QuestionDoes this projector Epson 5050UB come with speakers? If not how could i connect Bluetooth speakers to it?
Asked by Jose.
- A:Answer Hi Jose, The Home Cinema 5050UB is typically used in home theater setups where an A/V receiver sends video to the projector and audio to a surround sound system. It does not have Bluetooth or audio output jacks. You would need to purchase an external device to send sound to Bluetooth speakers. Other Epson projector models have built-in speakers and/or Bluetooth sound capabilities Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.

Q: QuestionI purchased the iBirdie 4K UHD HDMI Cable 50 Feet cable for my Epson 5050UB projector but it is not working. I get the message saying that it is not supported. I need recommendations for a 50 feet HDMI cable
Asked by HDMI.
- A:Answer Once you go over 15 feet in length you need to get yourself a fiber HDMI cable. I am using a 50 foot RUIPRO fiber HDMI cable for my Epson 5050ub and I've had no issues.

Q: QuestionThe distance from the projector to the receiver will be about 30'. Do I need a fiber optic HDMI cable?
Asked by Andy.
- A:Answer Yes I would get one. Lots of people have had handshake issues with this projector. I had the Uhd60 before this and my 30ft cable worked fine with it but wouldn't play nice with the Epson. I ended up going fiber and now have no problems

Q: QuestionI am trying to use 120 inch screen, What is ideal distance of this projector from screen.
Asked by Muhammad.
- A:Answer Hi Muhammad. To project a 120" inch image, the Epson Home Cinema 5050 must be placed 174 to 365 inches (or 442 to 927 cm) from the screen. Kind Regards, Bobby - The Epson Team.

Q: QuestionDoes this projector work with 60fps 4K content?
Asked by Frankie.
- A:Answer With an HDMI 2.0 cable, rated for 18gbps, it is capable of 60fps HDR yes. My case, we had to order a 50ft fiber optic HDMI cable to span the distance from source to projector. The traditional copper did not have enough bandwidth, this will be the case for any project due to the amount of data.
