Great scanner so far!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I have only ever used Fujitsu scanners because of their reputation - but this scanner had a price point that I couldn't ignore... And I will admit I am completely impressed. One month with this scanner has completely reversed my opinion that Fujitsu the only real option. While there hasn't been years of use yet to prove the test of time, month number one has been without a single issue over a couple thousand scans.

One of the best scanners
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Purchased this scanner hoping it would be like the one I have at work. It turned out to be so much better! Really easy to set up and connect to my laptop. I was up and ready to scan in less than 20 minutes. Once set up, you click the scan button on the scanner and the program pops up showing you your image right away. It automatically makes it a colored PDF file so there was no wait time for the document to convert. 30 + pages scanned at one time and was able to save it with no trouble at all. Literally is so much better than the one I work with everyday at my office. I definitely recommend this product. So glad this purchase didn’t disappoint me.

Fast scanner, compact design
|Posted .This Epson Scanner has made working from home/home schooling so much easier. I am amazed at how much I needed a scanner like this. As the name implies, this Workforce does what it was meant to do at such an efficient rate. After a few weeks using it, it has made work/homework life much easier. Pros: -Easy to set up. Literally. Plug it in, power on, go to the epson website to download the needed software, and it’s ready to go. -Small, compact use. Having it situated next to my desktop, it’s hardly noticeable thanks to the paper tray folding in, along with the paper feeder coming from the top. I’m so happy that it doesn’t leave too much for a footprint on my desk, especially as I’m sharing it with my kids who are doing distance learning. -Fast scanning. Speaking about my kids, both of them require printing out and returning homework/classwork for their teacher to grade. They have many pages to scan and this workforce easily handles it in an efficient and fast manor. I also needed to scan a 26 page document for work and it scanned it in 300 dpi in seconds, which a multi use scanner and printer would take longer to scan. Cons: -Not fully aligned. When scanning it doesn’t fully align, and it is slightly off in some corners. The OCD part of me is highly annoyed, but it gets the work done. Overall, I am thoroughly happy with this Epson Workforce scanner. It’s a must need for any home office.

Small size, massive performance!
|Posted .This is the most useful scanner I have ever owned. Prior to this scanner, I was using an Epson all-in-one printer that had a flatbed and automatic document feeder (ADF) scanner function that can only scan documents one side at a time. Suffice it to say, the ADF on my all-in-on printer really behaves more like an “automatically doesn’t function” scanner. This awesome little scanner is a breath of fresh air for me. The setup was easy, albeit requiring the use of a USB-A to USB-B cable that they supplied. If you are going to try to set this up with a computer that only has USB-C ports, make sure you have a USB-A to USB-C adapter for ease of use and set up. (I have not yet figured out if this particular model connects via WIFI, I suspect not). I plugged this in as the directions showed and downloaded the Epson SmartScan software onto my Apple Macbook Pro running the most recent update of Big Sur. Normally, and with my other Epson printer included, I do not like proprietary printer software. However, this SmartScan software is just too great. Before you scan your document, you can choose whether you are going to scan a single side document or a double side document. After that selection, this thing just TAKES OFF and scans all of the pages faster than I could have imagined. I actually got startled when I first started the scanning process and the first page just rocketed through this scanner like the Tasmanian devil on crack. The next part of the scanning process on the software allows you to review the orientation, order, and quality of each scan in an easy to view process, allowing you to make adjustments as needed before saving. Then with the saving process, you have the ability to save directly to the computer, print and then save (printing occurring on a connected printer of course) Google Drive, to an email, to Microsoft Word and Excel, and more. I wasn’t sure, but I would have liked to see direct support for Microsoft Onedrive. However, I worked around this by setting up to save to a folder within my Onedrive folder on my Macbook Pro. With further use, something I wanted to note that I think is awesome is that it automatically detects if it is scanning a double-sided document or not! Not preselection required, just load the documents as instructed and press the scan button and it will take over from there! Love that. Another thing I found is that, by loading my driver’s license long way in (vertical) it scans it with ease. I just had to squeeze in the guides and make sure it was aligned properly. I found that it was inconsistent with other cards though, no matter how I aligned them. I would really consider this to be best accomplished at normal sized paper documents and that a flatbed would probably be best for cards etc. if you are seeking consistency. Overall, for a home office, working from home, or small business setting, I can’t imagine a better scanner. Its compact size places no great demands on space and its quality of scans and efficiency in scanning yield results that anyone can appreciate. This definitely has found its place in my set up! With tax season arriving, I am going to be pleased to have this scanner to help me get all my documents prepared and scanned in!

Small Size Super Scanner
Posted .The Epson WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner is my new favorite desktop accessory. An accessory, that takes up very little space (6.9 inches in height, 6.6 inches in width when closed) on my desk, but completes a lot of productivity in my daily home office tasks. After carefully unboxing my new scanner, I thoroughly read the enclosed illustrated start up leaflet. I immediately noted that it stated, "DO NOT PLUG IN USB CORD UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO DO SO". (Except it was not in bold lettering... I would make a suggestion to the company to do so, or highlight that important instruction). It was very easy to set up this wired scanner, using the supplied USB-A to USB-B cable. I then downloaded the software from Epson's website, via the internet. It can handle projects that I create for teaching preschoolers, or even scanning records and receipts into my small business files. It's a fifty-sheet auto document feeder is lightning fast, and is able to scan up to 35 ppm, from business card sized up to 240 inches, while automatically detecting and capturing both sides of each sheet in one pass. It's built "double decker" style, where as, the pages to be scanned, are loaded at the top, then pass through the scanner, and come to rest, in the paper tray below. It resembles a printer in that manner, which is a huge improvement over having to lay pages or photos down, one at a time, on a flatbed or all-in-one style scanner. I found it exciting that this can be paired with an Epson flatbed scanner for scanning my photos or thicker materials, with the optional flatbed dock The included Epson ScanSmart Software2 is intuitive feature allows me to choose, preview, adjust, enhance, email and upload color scans, and make and corrections or adjustments desired before saving it to a searchable pdf file, or one of several cloud storage accounts. The image correction features such as auto crop, dirt detection, staple protection and paper-skew correction, give me quality scans with less bother. I'm currently working on scanning my grandmother's handwritten recipes into files and these features have really come in handy with this project since the original documents are not in pristine condition. I have already recommended the Epson WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner to my friends and family. It's making both my personal life, as well as my small business tasks, much simpler, more organized, creative, and fun. “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

Perfect!
|Posted .In an age where everything is going virtual, the Epson WorkForce ES-400 II has helped me tremendously! Becoming digital has been stress but not anymore. Set-up was so simple, I had it fully working within 3 minutes. I was able to turn all my old medical records digital, scan in my documents for safekeeping, and even organized my receipts. I even scanned a whole book straight to my Google drive within a minute, I never thought it could be this easy. I found it so impressive that I can scan documents right into Excel and PowerPoint. Everything about this scanner worked perfectly for me! I recommend the Epson - WorkForce ES-400 II.

Fast and reliable, another quality Epson product.
Posted .I have used plenty of scanners, both flatbed and document feed. The Epson ES-400II Duplex scanner surprised me. To test setup and ease of use, I had my wife unbox, install software, and fire up the scanner. She does okay around technology but lets say it's not something she does often or cares to do. There were no issues with getting the scanner up and running. The scanner is solid, takes up very little desktop space, and is a speedy quiet running machine. To test we ran a few letter sized documents through the scanner. After the software is running, the ease of a push button on the scanner to start scanning is very useful. I was really impressed at the speed of the scans. All documents came out very well with no issues. Setting to two sided, I thought it would scan, flip, and scan again. But the ES-400II scanner does both sides with a single scan. If you have two-sided documents to scan this is a huge time saver. We then wanted to test the scanner with photos. We have well over 1,000 family photos that we wanted to scan. Setting the software to color and a resolution of 800 dpi we begain the process. We started by putting in one photo, push the button to scan, adding the next photo, rinse and repeat. We then tried feeding the photos in by hand one after the other. To our delight the photos scanned without any other intervention. This absolutely speeds of this process. We can highly recommend this for such a task. There were larger photos that would not fit but that is to be expected. I was certainly delighted with the results of most photos. We had a few that it had some trouble with and those may require touch-up in an editing program. This is a great scanner for many home applications, but for businesses that require multiple document scans, even double-sided, I can say I would look to this Epson for a great solution. For the record I have done beta testing for hardware in the past, and I'm not one to say something is good when it's not. I too read reviews and want honest opinions. This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

A Truly Outstanding Product
|Posted .Epson - WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner I have to say this scanner performs above my expectations. I have never owned a standalone document scanner. I do have a sheet fed scanner on my multi-purpose printer but the Epson scanner is much faster with improved scans. The scanner does dual side scanning as well. This Epson scanner in this price range comes in a wireless model and one that connects with a USB cable supplied. When everything is installed you press a button and the scan takes place. I have not had an opportunity to do multiple -page scanning and I have only used it several times. The installation was clear, helpful and to the point. The instructions included not to connect the scanner to the computer until told to do so. That was important. The first step is install the drivers and some software, plug the scanner at the appropriate time and then complete the installation. Worked like a charm. I would definitely recommend this scanner to anyone looking to purchase a standalone desktop scanner, This size is right, the speed is great, and the scans are very good. The scanner is not terribly expensive and the scanner could operate a large volume of scans.
