Q: Can you seal packages that aren't the specific FoodSaver bags?
A: Yes, you can seal chips and cereal for sure. As far as non-foodsaver bags, i would assume so. As long as they are not drastically different in thickness, there is no reason why it wouldn't work. We almost exclusively use this to seal chips and cereal.

A: I have used many different kinds of bags without any issues. just have to experiment. Good luck
