Frank Sinatra: A Man And His Music [DVD] [1965]

Frank Sinatra's critically acclaimed 1965 television special appears on DVD in an attractive but no-frills package. As befits its status as a mid-'60s television production, the image has been transferred at full-frame in the original 1.33:1 aspect ratio, though the original mono audio has been remixed for stereo playback (the soundtrack is encoded in PCM, rather than Dolby Digital). There are no subtitles (though the program does feature closed captions), and the disc has been given no additional bonus features. While this release hardly pushes the boundaries of the DVD format, any fan of Ol' Blue Eyes will be happy to own one of his most intriguing performances in the higher quality (and more stable) digital format.
