Synopsis

Season six of Full House is jam-packed with incident for the Tanner household: widowed San Francisco TV host Danny Tanner (Bob Saget); his three daughters Stephanie (Candace Cameron), D.J. (Lori Loughlin), and Michelle (played by twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen); his brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos), Jesse's wife, Becky (Lori Loughlin) and their twin babies, Alex and Nicky (now played by real-life twins Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit); and Danny's comedian pal Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier). The season opens as D.J. returns from a summer study program in Barcelona -- with a new boyfriend, the slightly older Steve Hale (Scott Weinger), in tow. Meanwhile, Jesse continues touring America and the world with his singing group "The Rippers," capitalizing on his surprise song hit, "Forever." And Danny and his girlfriend Vicky Larson (Gail Edwards) are still weighing the option of making their relationship permanent. In other sixth-season highlights, Mark Linn Baker guest stars as Becky's snooty millionaire cousin Dick Donaldson; little Michelle goes to great lengths to prevent her best friend, Teddy (Tahj Mowry), from moving to Amarillo; Stephanie's homemade ear-piercing job ends in disaster; Jesse graduates from night school, but a comedy of errors results in a sparse turnout for the ceremony; and Danny's daughters inadvertently wreck an expensive museum exhibit. The season ends with its traditional two-part finale, set in Disney World -- where Michelle wanders off and gets lost, and where Danny finally pops the question to Vicky. Though Full House lost a bit of its audience during the 1992-1993 season, the series remained comfortably in tenth place in the overall ratings. ~ Hal Erickson

Season six of Full House finds the Tanner family continuing to grow as they face new challenges together. The season opens with D.J. (Candace Cameron) returning from a summer in Spain with a surprise, boyfriend Steve (Scott Weinger). This is a change that dad Danny (Bob Saget) isn't ready to deal with. Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) has a change of her own to face when her best friend moves from California to Texas. Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) wants different rules then her sister had, and rebels by getting her ears pierced. And Jesse (John Stamos) and Joey (Dave Coulier) deal with their own changes when they team up again to become hosts of an afternoon radio show. In another continuity error (which does happen in long running series), Jesse suddenly goes from being a high school graduate in season four to a high school drop out who goes to night school to get his diploma. Even though this doesn't fit with what they did before, it provides several fun episodes. Another running storyline is Danny's long distance relationship with Vicky (recurring actress Gail Edwards). We get to watch the struggles these two endure. All this comes to a climax when the gang heads to Disney World for the season finale. With the girls growing up, the series is continuing to find new topics to explore. And it continues to be just as fun, funny, and heart warming as always. While many of the episodes are predictable, there's lots of fun getting to the end. Missing from this season are most of the catch phrases we're used to hearing. As much as I enjoyed them, it's a change I don't mind that much. As with the last couple season sets, there are no bonus features. We do get all 24 episodes on four discs. They look and sound good enough for a sitcom. There's nothing here that will blow you away, but there really is no need for it, either. This series won't appeal to everyone. But the young and young at heart will continue to enjoy the adventures of the Tanner clan.

Although Michelle is in a very annoying stage and Steve is allowed to eat all of the Tanner household food, this season is always a good time.
