Q: it takes 3-4 hours to dry towels/bed sheets... is this a problem everyone have?
A: Hi Osman- This is Sue at GE Appliances. We can certainly understand your concern and glad to help. 3-4 hours would not be considered normal. Make sure the Time Dry setting is not set to Air Fluff (No Heat). You can change the temperature of your dry cycle. Choose Medium or High for permanent press and regular to heavy cottons. For reference, see page 7 of the Owner's Manual: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90370-1.pdf - If the cycle selection is appropriate, the vent system may need to be checked. We suggest to view the following troubleshooting link for details: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18058 - We hope this is helpful. Keep in touch!
A: Rear vented and ours has six inches behind dryer.
Q: Does the washer plug into the dryer? I know Bosch offers this feature and I only have 1 220V outlet.
A: No, the washer and dryer do NOT work off the same outlet, but the washer only requires a 110 circuit where the dryer requires a 220 circuit. I am very pleased with the pair, I might add. Very quiet and all the features I expected and liked. The Bosch works with an indoor evaporative dryer. In other words, all the heat and some humidity from the dryer gets put into your laundry room. I did not want that type of setup in Florida. We always need to get the heat and moisture out of the buildings. This is why I chose the GE. Of course the GE won't work in a high rise without outside ventilation.
A: Hi Ron! - Thanks for your excellent question! The only extra required part for side venting is the cover required for the pre-cut hole in the back of the unit. This part number is WE1M454. For all the imstructions for side venting, see page 21 of the manual here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90370-1.pdf - Happy Side Venting! - John
Q: If I side vent the dryer, can I install it closer than 3 inches to the back wall.
A: Hi Dave- Per the Installation Instructions, the minimum clearances to combustible surfaces is 0" both sides, 3" rear (Alcove or Closet Installation: 0" either side, 3" front and rear.) We suggest to view the Quick Specs at the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=360423_dcvh480_485ek_r4.pdf - Matching Washer: GE® 2.2 DOE Cu. Ft. Frontload WCVH4800KWW. Optional Stacking Kit GE24STACK (sold separately). Thanks for choosing GE! SUE@GEA
Q: Can I stack the Dryer on top of the washing machine?
A: Yes, you can stack this with washer and dryer. Just needed to buy stacking kits.
Q: Is there a pedestal that will work with this washer and dryer stacked?
A: Hi Ozzy- Thanks for viewing GE! GE® Electric Dryer DCVH480EKWW is compatible with GE® Frontload Washer WCVH4800KWW. Optional Stacking Kit GE24STACK is sold separately. Pedestals are not available for these models. Also, on models with pedestal option, they cannot be used with stacked installation. Thanks for checking with us! SUEatGEA
A: Don't waste your time or make a jerry-rigged mess out of the ventilation. Just buy a Bosch, Samsung or LG that all offer ventless drying.
