Very Responsive!
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This Govee background lighting is awesome! I have a 55inch TV and it fit perfect. I was most impressed about the response time of the color changing. As soon as the TV screen changes the color matches immediately. You get an app on your phone which you can control brightness/turn on and off/plus many more features! The camera can be a little weird at first on your TV but there is an option to put it on top or the bottom. After a few days you forget that it is there! Setup is very easy, light strips stick well and they provide plenty amount of stickers for backup! Overall this product is very impressive for the price.

Satisfied!
||Posted .I was skeptical of getting this even after reading some of the reviews and watching the reviews on YouTube. This is a must have! This fits a 70inch TV! Wasn’t sure if I needed the 75-85 kit but decided to give it a try and I’m glad I did! This gives the needed lightning that was missing! Definitely worth the price( got it while it was on sale) $70 is a steal! FYI: it was easier to line everything up by putting the top (centering it) strip on first makes everything else fall in place. Next is a bigger sound bar.

It's cool.
||Posted .This is very cool but set up may be frustrating for some. If you are not into tech you will likely need some help with installing and tweaking. You need 2.4mhz wifi 5.0 won't work. Also you also need an email address to do the set up. For these reasons I'm subtracting a star.

Works well, good price
|Posted .Review for Govee - Dreamview TV Strip Lights - for 55”- 65” TVs I found these TV lights easy to install. The instructions are straightforward and the app to connect to them worked great for setup. Similar systems can easily cost more than 3X as much, so I was pleased to see that they are well made and are very bright — although you can dim them to your favorite level. In order to mimic the TV image, more expensive systems tap into the TV signal itself; these use a small fisheye camera that you can mount above or below the screen. I was skeptical that the response time for such a system would be unacceptable, but again, was surprised at how well this works! I also thought the camera, though small, would be annoying, but it’s easily ignored. I took away one star for the app that controls the lights. It’s not hard to use, but it’s set up to include all of Govee’s products and, as such is crowded and a bit confusing. The ability to customize the layout for your product(s) would make it more user friendly.

My living room is now a movie theater!
|Posted .These lights have added a whole new level of immersion to my home movie theater experience. This is absolutely a kit you should consider purchasing if you are a movie buff or audiophile and would like to enjoy getting into your shows, movies, and music from a whole new visual standpoint! I really like Govee. Prior to this review, I have had experience with some of their other smart products like their Bluetooth thermometers/hydrometers and I find that the ease of use with both the products and the Govee Home app is among some of the best I have experienced. These Dreamview Strip lights are of a very high build quality and were very simple to get set up. No troubleshooting or online research was required to get these set up. I would recommend a second person to help you install the adhesive light strips, as it is much easier to have one person in charge of unrolling the reel of lights and removing the red backing to the adhesive while the other person presses the lights to the back of the TV while you are unrolling. The lights also came with some reinforcement adhesive tabs that I used at the corners of the light strips where they terminate into small lengths of wire (allowing for adjustability between 55”-65” TVs). The only sticking point I had in my set up was the camera. It would really have been nice if Govee had made the camera mount with a clamp instead of simple adhesive due to the difficulty with thin TVs like my Vizio OLED 65. I ended up going for a less than elegant solution of using packing tape to tape the back of the camera to the TV to minimize its risk of falling or moving position. This works and is not visible from the front, but it does slightly bother me to know the tape is there. Otherwise, the setup following the included setup pamphlet from beginning to end went over without a hitch! I have attached pictures, but these LEDs are BRIGHT on max brightness. Even in a daytime lit room, there is still enough brightness to enhance the immersion on the screen and bring amazing immersion to your entertainment. I watched the famous bridge battle between Gandalf and the Balrog of Khazad-Dum in Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring, and my jaw actually dropped as I exclaimed with delight over the LED lights capture of the fire vs light battle! Explosions of red with strikes of white were all perfectly captured by the camera of the Dreamview and made the experience truly the most memorable I have had since seeing the theatric release originally in 2001 as a young kid. Altogether, at this price I feel that this light set up is practically unbeatable. It is simply bewildering to me why people would pay for HDMI-connection based light strip setups that cost 5 times as much as this when you can have the same experience on a device that requires no input to your TV. I am utterly impressed and give this 5 out of 5 stars. Thanks for reading and buy this right away!

Great lights - Just Not Great for TV Ambiance
|Posted .TLDR: (that’s Too Long, Didn’t Read) The lights themselves are really nice and attach to the back of the TV well, but the whole setup just doesn’t work well for “extending” the TV visuals past the edges of the screen. The camera doesn’t work that great for choosing the colors for the lights at the edges, and they don’t seem to be able to turn on or off automatically with the TV. Pros: * Light strips are bright and colorful and securely attach to the TV. * Kit fits my 65” OLED TV well. * Easy and secure installation. * Lots of options in the companion App. * WiFi connectivity doesn’t require Bluetooth proximity for control. Cons: * Using a fisheye camera to determine colors for the edges doesn’t work well. * Doesn’t appear to be a way to have the lights turn on and off with the TV. Details - Setup: Setup is extensive but not terribly difficult. The lights are composed of four (4) separate strips that are tethered to each other in a long loop with one “chunk” per edge of your TV. Starting at one edge (either the left or right), you stick the light strip to the back of your TV and continue around in a loop until all four sides are attached. Next, mount the camera to either the top or bottom of the TV. My LG 65” OLED TV’s top bezel is so thin that I had to mount the camera to the bottom edge. Make sure that you leave enough room for the camera mount when you attach the light strips, too. After the lights and the camera are mounted, next is the easy part. Plug the light strip’s single USB-C cable and the camera’s USB-A cable into the small control box, then plug the AC power adapter into the control box. Power up the box and follow the easy steps in the app to get the box on your WiFi. Calibration of the camera is critical to getting a good lighting experience. There are orange foam blocks that you temporarily stick onto the front of your TV to mark the corners and edges for the camera. The camera’s image is fish-eyed so it’s not easy to line it all up, but once you do, you can remove the foam blocks and toss them unless you want to reuse them for future calibration. That’s basically it for setup. If you want, you can also tidy up the wires and mount the controller box to the back of the TV. Details - Typical Usage: I have another brand of TV lights mounted to my TV already. That other brand has a sync box that connects to the HDMI cable for my TV and monitors the video signal rather than using a camera to “look at” the picture on the TV. The camera that comes with this kit attempts to “see” what’s on the TV visually and modulate the brightness and color of the lights on the edges of the screen. I would expect from a kit like this is that the lights would extend the colors from the edges of the TV picture; If there is red at the left edge of the screen, I’d expect that edge’s lights to be red. The problem is that the light on the edges seems to match the colors on the center of the screen and not be an extension of the content near the edges; unlike the other TV sync box that intercepts the actual video signal from the HDMI cable. With this kit, you end up with lighting at the edges that more matches the center of the screen which doesn’t look that great to me. There are tons of settings in the app and you can even set it up for Amazon or Google voice control. The lights can be set to turn on or off at a certain time of day, but it doesn’t appear that you can have them automatically turn on or off with the TV. Since this kit mounts to the TV, it’s designed to match the lights to video content, yet a ton of the settings are for matching music, room sounds or just being ambient light. I really had a hard time getting it calibrated to have the lights “extend” the color from that edge of the screen. The camera just doesn’t appear to be a great way to determine what color and brightness should be at the edges since the camera’s fish-eye lens has a hard time seeing anything at the edges of the screen. Conclusion: The light strips mounted easily and worked well, but the control box and camera system doesn’t work that great for “extending” the light at the edges of the TV image onto the wall. Plus, you need to manually turn the control box on and off rather than having it turn on and off with your TV. Overall, I prefer the other product’s control method of intercepting the HDMI video signal rather than using a camera to “watch” TV with you. This kit performs better as a TV-mounted ambient light than it does as an extension of the TV picture.

Expert or Novice ..... You Win
|Posted .The Govee - Dreamview TV Strip Lights - for 55”- 65” TVs will enhance your viewing or gaming experience whether no matter your experience level with emersive lighting. I had a static LED setup on my 65 inch SONY, meaning the lights were whatever color I set them on with no software to move with the action on the screen. Generally set to blue in the evening it worked well. Or it did until the Govee system arrived. Emersive lighting gives the illusion of expanding your display and changes with the action. To say that when set up properly and with a little patience this will enhance your viewing or gaming experience is an understatement, but although you can unbox and install without issue a little patience will make a good thing even better, especially if you're an AV geek like me. OK let's get into the nuts and bolts a little bit. Trust me guys this will make your life easier. First this setup is for both a 55 and 65 inch display. Important to note there is no cutting needed, and here's the trick. For a 55 inch set set the LEDs about 1 inch in from the edge, and for a 65 inch position the Led strip about 3 inches from the edge for the best result. Next, the included camera can be mounted on either the top or the bottom of your display. If you use a wall mount and angle your display mount the camera on the bottom. If you use the stand mounting on the top gives the best results. The Govee Home app is excellent. You can adjust the intensity, brightness and white balance. Here's where a little patience will really pay off Intensity - for the most natural and accurate reproduction of color bring the level to just under 50% Any more will upset the balance. Brightness - adjust according to light in the room and taste. Gaming is cooler brighter. White Balance - Adjust between blue and red but angling toward blue lends a more natural effect. I suggest blue 20%. For the real geeks, like me, since all displays are different, adjusting the white balance and color bias on the set itself will really fine tune the experience. (see enclosed pix). The only real competition for the Govee - Dreamview TV Strip Lights - for 55”- 65” TVs is by Phillips Hue, but this setup won't cause you to sip a meal or gas for the car, if you catch my meaning. There ya have it guys, the Govee - Dreamview TV Strip Lights - for 55”- 65” TVs is a winner. Even with the extra adjustments I recommended you will be up and reveling in 20 mins or about 45.if you calibrate your set. For a little extra fun go to MUSIC mode and rawk out. CHEERS!

Q: QuestionWould it be possible to use the LED lights with a smaller tv?
Asked by Grant.
- A:Answer Yes, just double up the row of lights across the back of your TV.

Q: QuestionThis model # is the H6198, but can't find it listed on the Govee website or anywhere else other than BestBuy. Is this exactly the same as the Govee T1 Dreamview H6199 labeled on the Govee website as their latest version?
Asked by Rob.
- A:Answer Pretty much yes, they don't sell the dreamview online anymore, but this comes with the same stuff that was included and it looks fantastic. Might have to adjust color and saturation to your liking but I've learned having the camera on the bottom not only gets rid of it being distracting but also makes the lights follow more.

Q: QuestionI know it says 55-65 but I have a 75 inch tv will it work just as fine with that?
Asked by Rudy.
- A:Answer Yes. It has set-length LED strips with plenty of room between to be used on a larger TV (I have a 65" and there's still lots of extra cable between the LED strips). The only issue I could see is that the color projected behind the TV may be slightly dimmer in the corners of the TV. But you'd have to be looking for it to notice.

Q: QuestionCan I use this on a 42” tv
Asked by Milan.
- A:Answer I have a 55 inch and the strips take up the whole TV. The light strips may be too long for a 42 inch.

Q: QuestionCould this be good and useful for a 70 inch tv? I know it only goes up to 65
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer You probably could use it but it won’t get to the corners.

Q: QuestionBy chance can the camera be installed at the bottom of the TV instead of at the top? Would be less distracting that way.
Asked by Dennis.
- A:Answer Yes you can. I don’t find the camera distracting at all. It doesn’t obstruct any view of the TV if mounted properly
