Green Day: Rock Band - Xbox 360

Great game. Love the songs and it's the actual band playing.

Being a huge fan of Green Day, I love almost every minute of playing this game. It has a big selection of songs, including three full albums. It even inspired me to go buy their "Warning" album to complete my CD collection. If you love this band, or just like some solid rock music to add to your Rock Band playlist, you can't go wrong with this game. Being able to export every song is a huge plus. I do wish they had given us more songs from their albums following Dookie and before American Idiot. Another dozen songs would have made the game feel a little meatier, but the game has dropped to 40 dollars, so it's still a great value. Also, some of the animations before the songs last just a tad too long. There are times when I find myself thinking, "Ok guys, stop showboating and let me sing." That's a very minor complaint, though. I enjoy this game so much that I own both the 360 and PS3 versions.

First of all if your reading this, please remember that Rock Band games require atleast one mircophone to play, headsets are not an option for Xbox 360. Buying the whole Rock Band kit, if you don't already own it, would be the the best option to get the full effect of the game. I already own the Beatles Rock Band drums, guitar, etc so it's fully compatible with all Rock Band games and I'm pretty sure if you have the Guitar Hero bundle, you can use that too. Okay, here's the deal with the game. It is incredibly fun if you are a Green Day fan. The singing and instrument gameplay can get very addicting and the game includes a great soundtrack. I know it's hard if your a fan because there's always that one song you love and it's not there, but I'm sure the majority are pleased with the soundtrack. Now, if your not a Green Day fan, I'm warning you to be cautious if your thinking about purchasing it. Remember, all 50 or so songs in the game are ALL Green Day, so if you don't nkow their songs very well, you may find the game frustrating at times. But overall, this is really a must own if you are a Green Day fan.

If you are a fan of Green Day and a fan of Rock Band, this is a must have. If you are one or the other, this is a maybe have. If you are neither, than don't waste your time reading further. This is not the title that will spark your interest in Rock Band nor will it make you into a Green Day fan. I happen to love Rock Band and like Green Day, so it was a no brainer. The drums are super fun, the harmony vocals are carried over from The Beatles game, and the bass lines are punishing. The Billy Joe guitar parts are not ideally suited for Rock Band. He mostly just bangs away on chords, which can become awfully repetitive. So, I completed campaigns on every instrument but guitar, where I cherry picked the good stuff. Overall, this as a nice installment to tide me over until Rock Band 3 came out.

This is a must for Green Day fans! It will take us a while to finish this game, whereas we have already purchased and finished Rock Band 3.
