Q: Is it actually better to buy 5 starred item?
A: I would think the 5 starred items would be preferable for choice if there are many 5 star reviews which means many people were satisfied and happy with their purchase.
A: Yes, for some reason this toaster automatically returns to #4 no matter what number you select for your lightness/darkness preference for toasting.
A: There seems to be a default setting. I have decreased it and increased it. When I go to use the toaster again, it reverts to the default setting. Caveat: I have not referred to the user manual to see if there's a way to override the default setting.
