Go from Amateur Enthusiast to an actual DJ

The Inpulse T7 is so much fun that I simply can't help but to give it a full 5 stars - but besides being a blast to use - I do believe that it fairly earns its high marks. ...I have always dreamt of becoming a DJ, but spending a fortune on Vinyl in the age of digital music is not very appealing. And, DJing off of only a laptop (while fun) is embarrassing and doesn't feel authentic. ...Enter the Hercules DJControl Input T7... Interestingly, the Input T7 is really just a cool way to control a laptop (hence the device being a DJ Controller). But, the T7 is legit! It has truly exceptional build quality for a nearly unbeatable price. What I love about it is that it is a device that a beginner can learn on and then continue to use as an actual paid DJ. I used to watch DJs and think, "What are they doing? They are touching all kinds of buttons and twisting a bunch of knobs and I don't hear anything happening." Now I can't help but think, "There is soooooo much to learn and soooo much to do with all of these buttons and knobs!" While the overall complexity can be rather overwhelming, Hercules has tutorial videos that do a great job of getting Noobs (like me) off their feet. A laptop is required as is powering the DJController from an external power source. The peripheral controls one of two Software programs - either Serato DJ Lite (or Pro - which costs extra), or DJuced. Both are professional level DJ software. If you are considering the T7 absolutely take a moment to watch some video reviews - they will 100% inspire you to pick up the T7. I appreciate that among dozens upon dozens of features / controls, the T7 includes actual belt driven platers that get up to speed in less than a second and make scratching and beat matching an absolute breeze. I love that I can personalize the look with any 7 inch record - sure having real records spinning is just for looks, but the platters are actually useful and bring a legitimate feel to a performance art that has true history with vinyl. I absolutely cannot do the T7 justice by simply typing about it. Every button and knob is authentic, functional, and high quality - and the DJ Controller is an absolute blast that will have you nodding your head in no time. Go start watching videos of the T7 in action and pick one up as soon as you can.

    Great for first timers!

Hercules DJ Control Inpulse T7 DJ Mixer is a very intuitive system. One that shouldn’t intimidate beginners going for their dreams of DJing. what I like about this product is it has tutorials so you don’t become overwhelmed with all the controls on board. For those who want a quick review; I love that this is lightweight enough to carry to parties and once the retractable feet are up a laptop can fit right underneath. This is pretty cool. There isn’t much in the box besides the product, a USB-C cord, a power adapter, and instructions. There isn’t a quickstart guide and is a hassle putting in The website address to get the software you need. this could’ve been circumvented with a QR code which would’ve helped beginners out a lot quicker. The system requirements are also pretty high for PCs: Windows 10, 11 (64-bit) / macOS 11 or higher Processor: Recent Intel Core™ i5, 8 GB RAM or more, OpenGL 2.0 graphics or higher Hard drive space: 1 GB for DJUCED / 5 GB for Serato DJ, and Internet access. This also needs a Mac/PC to run the powerful software. The setup wasn’t a problem and was pretty easy connecting to the PC. Inpluse T7 LEDs across the board lit up and were ready to go. Again, you must download drivers and the supported software which is DJuced and Serato DJ. Both are free once you sign up for an account. You can set the tempo with 10 can faders, EQ, gain, volume, and more. On the back of the device, there is an XLR MASTERS, RCA, and mic. One of the best features here is mixing, and I love using the platters over and over again. The platters on this is motorized. They just feel so smooth and elegant reversing. The equipment does come with real 7-inch vinyls to give you that feel on your fingertips of mixing just like back in the day. Every knob feels well built and nothing feels like it’s gonna slip off or break. I can’t tell you how much they put into this device, especially someone who is a fan of DJing. This has got to be one of the best well-constructed devices I have used in a while, even moving it, and bumping one of the edges on the corner didn’t seem to damage it. Comes with two slip mats that also provide a grip tailored to your spins. This is just one nice DJ controller hands down. There is an upgradeable fader section and an FX section. The retractable feet are really good for desk setups that like to be clean. Hercules DJ Control Impulse Mixer so far was pretty fun to use and DJing was nice to try! The software wasn’t as cumbersome as I initially thought it would be. A professional should easily be able to use this controller without any problems I should say. I had so much fun using Inpulse T7, I also had fun learning how to DJ in my spare time. The software seems robust and powerful. Like the Beatmatch guide and grab pads as well. No issues with me and would recommend this to any music artist or DJs.

    Modern mixing, classing DJing

The Hercules DJControl Inpulse T7 marks a significant step forward for aspiring DJs, blending the classic feel of vinyl with the advantages of digital control. The motorized platters, simulating the experience of 33⅓ RPM turntables, offer an authentic DJing experience. The included felt slipmats are a notable addition, enhancing the tactile interaction with the decks and contributing positively to the overall mixing experience. This controller pairs well with Serato DJ Lite and DJUCED®, both included, offering a range of features that cater to both beginners and experienced DJs. The Beatmatch Guide and Intelligent Music Assistant in DJUCED, along with Autoplay in Serato, are particularly helpful for those new to the craft. However, I encountered some initial challenges in getting the software to recognize the hardware, requiring adjustments in the sound settings on my Windows 11 system – a known issue that Serato is actively addressing. The T7's design is both practical and innovative. The retractable feet are a clever addition, allowing for easy laptop placement and cable management during sets. The motorized platters are a standout feature, providing a smooth and responsive feel akin to traditional turntables. The ease of adjusting the amplitude of the crossfader and the comprehensive FX section further enhance the controller's versatility. In terms of performance, the T7 excels with its solid build quality and responsive controls. The tactile feedback from the buttons and knobs is reassuring, and the motorized platters add a level of realism that is hard to find in this price range. The use of solid-state drives is recommended for smoother performance, especially when handling larger audio files. Pros: Authentic turntable feel with motorized platters Retractable feet for convenient laptop placement Adjustable crossfader and comprehensive FX section Solid build quality and responsive controls Compatible with Serato DJ Lite and DJUCED® Cons: Known hardware recognition issues that are currently being investigated No tutorials available on the manufacturer's website Overall, the Hercules DJControl Inpulse T7 is a commendable choice for those stepping into the world of DJing, offering a blend of traditional feel and modern functionality. While there are some setup challenges, the overall experience is rewarding, making it a worthy investment for budding DJs.
