This TV is impressive, to say the least. You’d never guess it’s from a budget brand. Its performance rivals far more expensive models. In fact, you might even mistake it for an OLED, thanks to its incredibly crisp image quality, rich colors, and excellent contrast. While some users have noted the limited number of HDMI ports (only three), I personally only need one for my receiver, which handles all my devices. A standout feature is the USB-C port conveniently located on the side, perfect for connecting a computer. I tested it, and to my surprise, the image quality surpassed that of my dedicated monitor. The TV offers a variety of display settings, each with its own character: Vivid mode pushes brightness to the max, though it tends to wash out the colors. Standard hits the sweet spot with great contrast and natural tones. PC mode mirrors your computer display with sharpness and clarity. Game mode significantly reduces input lag, which helped me finally beat a tough boss. However, this comes at the cost of color vibrancy and brightness, so I sometimes prefer to tolerate a bit of lag for a better image. Sport mode was a pleasant surprise. Unlike other modes where fast motion blurs the ball and crowd, Sport keeps everything sharp, even the LED signage in the background. Theater Day/Night modes offer similar color profiles to Game mode but with improved clarity. There is some haloing around bright objects on dark backgrounds, but the whites are so intense it feels more like glare from a flashlight or headlights, bright enough to make your eyes adjust. Screen glare is present but minimal, only noticeable on dark screens and even then, it’s just a soft reflection. Side viewing is another strong point. There’s virtually no noticeable degradation in picture quality, which is rare at this price point. The sound is rich and full with the 'subwoofers'. The smart features are equally impressive. The Google interface is snappy and responsive, and the “Hey Google” voice control works quickly and accurately. The remote is thoughtfully designed, comfortable to hold, with a satisfying weight, a sleek metal casing, and illuminated buttons for easy use in the dark. All in all, if you’re debating whether to go with a more affordable TV over a premium brand, this model makes a compelling case. It delivers exceptional value without compromising on the features that matter most

the Hisense 85 inch TV feels incredible to use especially for movies and gaming. The picture quality is stunning, with vibrant colors and deep blacks that make everything look vivid and lifelike, almost like OLED. I found that activating Filmmaker Mode or Dolby Vision really enhanced the cinematic feel, making scenes more immersive. During movie nights, the brightness and contrast created a truly cinematic atmosphere, and gaming was smooth and responsive, adding to the immersive experience. Setting up was straightforward, and navigating the Google TV interface was quick and easy, making content browsing hassle-free. Overall, it’s a fantastic large-screen TV that offers a high-end viewing experience, though the downside comes with its size, it’s pretty heavy and need at least 2 people to setup and its screen is a little thick than the other high end ultra slim models.

If you are looking for a TV that’s a tremendous value and looks stunning, the Hisense U8 may be for you. The colors, black levels, and brightness blew me away. This TV hits way above it’s price point. Even with the windows open and tons of natural light, the picture stays crisp and vibrant. The Dolby Vision support is great, making watching movies much more immersive compared to my previous TV. The black are deeper, the highlights really pop, and everything just feels more cinematic. The sound from the built in speakers is also a pleasant surprise. Before getting all my speakers hooked back up, I tested the TV speakers and was impressed. There was actually some depth to the sound, where most TV speakers are not sufficient to fill my larger living room. Setup was super easy. The instructions made it easy to unbox the large 85-inch TV and get it on the stand. The entire TV is very heavy, so make sure to have a friend. The TV stand includes two height settings, a low version and a slightly higher setting, to allow for clearance of a soundbar. Once in place, I plugged it in and Google OS walked me through a couple quick steps, and I was able to use my phone to adjust basic settings. After logging into my streaming accounts, I was good to go in minutes. I mostly stream everything and switching between apps is easy. I’m even able to use my voice to navigate to the various apps. Gaming on this TV has been awesome. The response time is quick and the picture stays sharp, even during fast action scenes. Playing games in Dolby Vision looks incredible, the colors are vivid and the details really stand out. I also would like to acknowledge the thought that was put into the remote for this TV. I love that there is backlighting, which helps when watching movies at night. Plus, there’s this cool custom shortcut button so I can jump straight to my favorite app with a single click. Super handy. Overall, the Hisense U8 impressed me big time. The picture and sound are top-notch, and you get a ton of premium features without spending a fortune.
