Pleasantly Surprised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband and I purchased this as the temps were starting to rise this summer. We liked the idea of having something that is portable and a bit more energy efficient than an AC unit. We were a little skeptical but it works great. Like a fan but colder. It is especially helpful for hot nights. We have slept great. The only draw back is that you need to stay on top of making ice and it does need to be emptied periodically so it can dry out to prevent it smelling mildewy. Very glad we made this purchase

Works ok but too much maintanence
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It takes about 7 gallons of water to get to the max fill line. I think it takes about 4 gallons just to get to the min fill line. It has a "funky" smell for the first day or too which it states in the manual. Too much work to fill with 3-4 gallons of water every day. Also you need to clean the water out every once in a while. When you need to store it you need to drain the 4-5 gallons of water and clean the unit. It does keep you cooler than a good fan but fans are cheaper, less bulky and less work. Ended up getting a Dyson tower fan for $250 (they normally go for $400). Also got the Honeywell Quiet Set tower fan for $60.

Great unit for a portable unit!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased 2 before this one....am very impressed so far! Very easy to install! Only downfall is the drain tube...I live in Florida so a lot of water but unit is relatively quiet and cools the room great very quickly!

Got us through summer!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cooler ends up smelling like rotten eggs sometimes BUT that's very normal with swamp coolers (hence the name swamp cooler). It does it's job, wish it was a bit cheaper when I bought it but other than that it'll cool your room, make sure you have adequate ventilation for it to work optimally.

Q: QuestionIs this a portable ac can it be used to cool a basement If the building?
Asked by Thicky.
- A:Answer Hi, Thanks for your question. This unit is our Portable Evaporative Air Cooler, which differs from our Portable Air Conditioners. Our evaporative air coolers use the natural processes of water evaporation to cool incoming hot air and use a powerful fan to evenly distribute the newly cooled air. The temperature of dry air can drop significantly when liquid water transforms to water vapor through evaporation. As long as your basement has windows or a door for proper cross ventilation, you'll be able to use this unit.
