    Synopsis

    House of 1000 Corpses
Taking his cue from such 1970s horror classics as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) and The Hills Have Eyes (1977), animated rocker Rob Zombie goes celluloid with the throwback shocker House of 1000 Corpses. Running low on gas as they travel the highways of America in search of the ultimate roadside attraction, a group of teens pull into Captain Spaulding's (Sid Haig) museum of oddities (which also offers fried chicken and gasoline) only to become obsessed with uncovering the mystery of a legendary local maniac known only as Dr. Satan. When an attractive and mysterious hitchhiker subsequently offers to give the thrill seekers a personal tour of Dr. Satan's old stabbing grounds, a breakdown forces them to take refuge with a group of menacing oddballs as a fearsome storm rages outside. As the evening progresses and the backwoods hosts' Halloween festivities become ever more threatening, the teens soon realize that the legend of Dr. Satan may hold a bit more contemporary weight than any of them had previously thought. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

ok. when people ask me which Rob Zombie movie should i start with, i say - "start at the beginning". everything has a beginning, right? anyways. how i say it goes like this : "colorful". i sit through Rob Zombies' movies once a week and yet have i become bored. no matter what Zombie movie it is, i see something new every time. the plot is simple. "kids get lost, come across a place which is "boss", then everything goes wrong. my reviews are different than other peoples' reviews. i don't like to say names or the actors and who or WHAT they play. the menus are fun. but you HAVE to get the DVD version to understand what i am saying. the Blu-Ray is different with the menus. anyways, Rob's movies are STRICTLY for adults. no joking around that for that. and yes, Robs' lyrics are something, so makes you wonder what his dialog is going to be like?

If you love Rob Zombie as a producer, you will not be disappointed in this film. Rivals only to the Devils Rejects, no other producer can achieve what Rob Zombie has, other than perhaps Alfred Hitchcock did back "in the day". House of 1000 corpses will take you on a mind bending ride of sadism, gore, psychiatric disturbances and it will NOT let you go until the credits are gone. Don't believe me, watch this movie alone, in the dark, just before bedtime. Sweet Dreams.

First of all, I've been a Rob Zombie fan since '92. That said, I was looking forward to this movie with great anticipation. I was not disappointed. I new after watching this movie, Rob Zombie would be on his way to an incredible career in the movie business. Turns out, I was right. Many people dissed this movie and I can't see why. If you like horror movies, this is right up your alley!

I saw this movie on Halloween night 2003, it was a night of failed movie choices. On repeat viewing this movie isn't as bad as I originally thought, but it's still not as good as it could have been. The characters are mostly overplayed and annoying and I really didn't feel bad for anyone in this movie. It's still worth checking out once or twice

This is the movie that sparked the fire they refer to as The Devils Rejects! If you've seen The Devils Rejects and haven't seen House of 1000 Corpses, this is a must get. This isn't your stereotypical movie but if you're familiar and enjoy other Rob Zombie movies you won't be disappointed.

A great first effort by Rob Zombie. Like watching a haunted house attraction as a movie. Not for the faint at heart. Nothing really extra on the Blu-ray that isn't on the DVD but looks good nonetheless.

This is the first entry into the horror movie franchise by director Rob Zombie. Although it is not perfect and not for everyone, I would recommend it to the most die hard horror fan.

Good movie that requires a couple of viewings to get the full effect (enjoyment). Sid Haig is awesome and really makes the movie. Also, let the menu run for a bit and Capt Spaulding yells at you-kinda funny.
