While wireless printing is great (and this can be used for wirless printing if hooked up to a router that supports it, of course), many of us just want a simple and inexpensive printer for that occasional document. This excels here. HP printers are built to last, it's highly affordable, and it's ink is cheap to replace as well. It's a good old inkjet like what used to dominate the market. No computer screen or WiFi setup, etc. All those are great, of course, but if you want a simple inkjet for that occasional document you print from your computer and don't need phone/tablet printing etc - this is for you. The money you will save can be used towards cooler tech anyways - because no matter what printer you have, if you print from across the house you still need to go collect the printed pages ;-).

For simple printing this is the cheapest deal to be had if you don't need wireless printing. You do need a printer cable (purchased separately for about $25) it has a USB 2.0 end and then a 'square-ish' end that will connect to the printer. It comes both with a black and color ink cartridges and make sure to 'push hard till it clicks in' the ink cartridges into the proper slot. As of April 2016 there is at least one software update for the printer and can be done with 'internet connection.' If you connect to the internet for the registration and software update there is no need to use the supplied install disc. The install disc will be needed only if you have no 'internet connection'. For advanced users, beware of HP bloatware.

      Not a photo printer

I bought this printer specifically to print photos at home and was sadly disappointed. The quality was very poor, even on high grade photo paper and it doesn't' do borderless printing (a must for photos). Considering my 12 year old HP printer that just died could do borderless, there is no excuse for a printer being sold in 2016 not to print borderless. Even worse, every print came out smudged from the rollers. It also over applied ink to everyday color prints, resulting in paper that looked damp. In addition, there is no paper tray, so sheets must be loaded from the top. This means that the height requirement nearly doubles, in regards to the space needed. If you need to put it on a shelf, keep this in mind. If you need a very economical printer for kids to print out school projects in color, then go ahead and get this. It is good enough for that. If you would like to be able to print nice photos, then skip it. About the only positive I found was that it easily printed on 110 lb card stock. That wasn't enough for me , so I returned it.

Overall, the HP - DeskJet 1112 Printer in white is well worth the money. This printer is compact in size and fits in smaller spaces on your desk which is a positive feature if you are looking for space saving equipment. This HP Deskjet printer also prints extremely high-quality images and the ink in this printer is very affordable. Another positive feature about the HP Deskjet printer is that it is overall light-weight and very user-friendly to install and the installation process is quick and easy. This HP Deskjet printer prints papers fairly quickly and prints a diverse assortment of prints such as photographs and spreadsheets which look very professional. I would highly recommend this HP - DeskJet 1112 Printer to others who are looking to purchase an easy-to-use and reliable printer.

If you only need to print a page or pages or just use it to copy a document. This is the one printer that is value priced. It looks and feels solid. Nice and compact.Easy to install and run. Will work with Vista and on up. The Black ink is inexpensive and the color ink ,if needed, is just a little more. The Color Photo Quality is Excellent, very impressed. Will not do any scaning. Does not accept usb sticks or mem cards. Just load those to your computer and print from there. Very Satisfied with this printer. Only strange thing was it does not come with the usb computer to printer cord. I already had that card. Most do. 5 Stars. No issues at all.

This printer is reliable and low cost. I have only used it for basic printing needs and am quite happy with it. I chose this printer because a more expensive printer from Canon gave me problems when not used for long periods of time and had 5 ink cartridges that were expensive and ran out of ink quickly. This printer has only 2 cartridges (color and black) and the cartridges are relatively affordable. I also like that the HP will continue to print in black even if the color cartridge is empty (unlike the Canon that would fail to print if even one of the cartridges was empty). Set up was simple and after 2 months of light use, I have not encountered any problems.

Ink jet printer use is very expensive because of the price of ink cartridges. That's why buying an inkjet printer shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. With that said, this HP Deskjet Printer is fairly priced and works fairly well. I'm glad to see that there are still printers that are not wireless. The printer has worked very well, without paper jams. Moreover, I'm also satisfied with the print quality. Very crisp. My only complaint is that these ink jet cartridges seem to be much smaller than the ones I use to get in the previous HP DeskJet printer I had. I remember I could print using almost 1 ream of paper on one black cartridge those days. Now to do that I have to buy a higher-priced cartridge. But as for the function of the machine, it's satisfactory. Only wish it came in black.

This printer does NOT include USB cable

      Posted

Be aware of that the USB cable is not included. This printer does not offer wireless printing, which means you must connect it to your computer by a USB cable. Considering extra cost of the cable, $5~20, this price might not be cheap as much as you expected unless you already have one at home. I'm not sure how many figure out this fact before purchasing, but I thought it should be included. Right, this is not a fault of anyone, maybe a fault of my negligence, because I realized later that "What's Included" never listed it and Q&A revealed this fact. But, I wish it could be notified on the specification or somewhere customers can more easily figure out.
