A: As far as the ad says it's a stand alone speaker or I would have purchased two.
A: Good question, If you press and hold the + or the - button you can skip forward or back a track.
Q: Will this work with an iPod shuffle (connector piece may be older)?
A: You can connect iPod to this unit with Bluetooth or aux.
Q: Does the sd card playback shuffle songs?
A: It cannot shuffle the files on the SD card. SD memory card reader: supports MP3 file format.
