The Only Correct Way to View INCEPTION - 4K UHD
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This is the third copy of INCEPTION I have owned, from DVD to standard Blu-ray, and now 4K Ultra HD. The movie is astounding - even a decade after its original release. The Ultra HD version is a step up, but just slightly. Sound is very good; the colors are great; but I was surprised that it wasn't significantly sharper than my previous Blu-ray. One other negative is that the Warner Brothers BD-Live application is no longer available (as of around 2014) yet is still included in the Special Features disc. I viewed this on a Sony 85" X900H 4K TV using a Sony XBP-800M2 4K Blu-ray player.

A 10th Anniversary Worth Waiting For!
||Posted .Inception' is simply one of those films that carries a timeless quality to it that thrives more by its concept and story thrust than it's visuals — although the visuals still hold-up today — especially in 4K. But, even if the visuals didn't, it's psychological/metaphysical qualities is what propels the material forward. My wife is a hard-sell to my science-fiction passions, but she sees this one as a thinking 'outside-of-the-box' movie — she loved it.

Fantastic movie and SteelBook
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Loved the movie. One of Christopher Nolan’s best. Definitely a movie that needs to be “ watched “ and not have your mind on anything else. Picture quality looks terrific in 4K, and the SteelBook was worth waiting for to pick this up.

Inception - 4K Review
||Posted .This review is based on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray disc - this was played on an LG OLED 65" C6P using an OPPO 203 Ultra HD Player. First off, I really do enjoy the movie, but I'll be using this space to focus on the 4K Upgrade. I have to say.. I was a little bit disappointed. Inception is a pretty recent film (2010) and after seeing how great Dunkirk and Dark Knight looked on 4K, I was really excited to see how this one looked! In some areas, there is a nice upgrade noticeable! Textures look really good, it's got a fine level of grain that isn't distracting.. but other shots seem to be soft.. lacking sharpness and detail. Many of the indoor scenes seem like a smaller upgrade from the 1080p while outdoor shots seem much better. Is it better than the Blu-Ray? Definitely. If you don't have either? Buy the 4K for sure. It's a great movie and the best the movie has looked on home video.. but ultimately, its just not the most impressive thing. It looks good in parts but if I had to use one word to describe it, it would be "inconsistent". I'd give the video about a 4 out of 5. There are some points that look more like a 3-3.5 out of 5 but I didn't see any 4.5-5/5 moments like we saw very often in Dark Knight and Dunkirk. Audio is in 5.1 DTS-HDMA (No dolby atmos on any of these Christopher Nolan 4K Sets); I didn't notice a ton of difference here from the original audio on the Blu-Ray. Also included are the original Blu-Ray disc and Special Features disc. The 3 discs come in a 2-disc case, with 2 of them stacked. There's also a slipcover and digital copy included.

Worth an upgrade
Posted .I purchased this movie because I love it and, as with all Christopher Nolan movies, it's a native 4k vs an upscale. You can see this in the screenshot I added as it says Native 4K in the video section. I typically use this information when deciding to upgrade my movies to the 4k version as some upscale versions don't really look better than their 1080p counterparts.
