I recently moved to a new place, whereby I could afford to put a bit of distance between my PC monitor and my 42 Vizio (Excellent buy! also from bb), both hooked to my desktop (with Netflix and youtube, who needs cable?). Of course, with greater distances between monitors comes a longer cable. My 6 ft VGA no longer cut it. I purchased the currently reviewed item, which was just long enough. However when I set it up, my PC no longer recognized my LG monitor and the resolution was horrible. Refreshing it did no good, trying another same-lengthed cable did no good, and using the shorter cable to boot then switching them around did no good (per a google search suggestion). I found out that the longer your VGA cable, the more likely you will suffer from signal loss. I was unable to find such a thing as a cheap fix for this (there are much more costly, less lossy cables and expensive repeaters). This does not seem to be a problem for most buyers here, which is great for them. I ended up keeping the shorter VGA, returning the longer one for a longer HDMI and placing my tower a few feet from where I originally wanted it, so no big deal in the end.

I bought this item at the Boise, Idaho Best Buy store. I was a few inches short using the factory six (6) foot cable and thought adding this would be the solution to repositioning my PC. The Insignia Monitor Extension cable did not work with my HP Desktop with a Lenovo E2323 monitor. When I installed this extension cable the Lenovo would not display all of the modes and could not reach the 1920 x 1080 maximum display the monitor would permit. It had previously worked correctly with the factory cable. Being lazy, I trashed this cable and bought a ten foot monitor cable online from A***** with free Prime shipping delivered in two days. Everything worked correctly when not using the Insignia part. Perhaps it was defective or perhaps the length was too much for the monitor to be recognized by the video card. It just was not the correct solution for me.

I purchased this VGA extension cable because I was traveling and had to do a presentation using a projector from my laptop. Due to the setup of the room, my standard-length VGA cable wasn't long enough, so I purchased this. I don't know if it was this cable or the projector that I was connecting to, but I experienced several "loss of signal" events where I was disconnected from the projector. Regardless, the cable was very thin, and the price paid was definitely too high for the quality of the product. But I didn't really have any other options in that situation.

This is a good basic cable. It is long enough to snake around the desk, and flexible enough that you are not fighting it to get it where it belongs. The connectors are substantial, and the mounting screws are large enough to work with. Most monitors come with one, but if you lost yours in a move, this is a good emergency replacement. Yes, there are cheaper ones on line, but what is your time worth.

I needed an extended cable to hook up my monitor on my height-adjustable desk down to my desktop PC, which I keep on the floor under the desk. The standard 3-foot cables just aren't long enough, especially if you want to hide the wires. I would give 5 stars but I though the price was a bit high, but, then again, my wife says I think the price is too high on everything. The cable is good quality and has performed well with no issues.

    DOES NOT INCLUDE ALL PINS

VGA cable is an extension, but does not include the DDC pins as shown in the picture which is very misleading. Using this in addition to a long cable means that there is issues with the monitors input. Very Disappointing that its not the product shown. So angry I came here to make a review.

I bought this to extend reach of my monitor, but found it created issues w/monitor citing it could not be set to prior resolutions (which worked w/the shorter cable that originally came with it). Not sure if it is low quality to this 10 foot cable or a compatibility issue w/my HP monitor. It was a wasted investment for me as I could not use it due to the issues w/screen resolution w/the new cord.

If you need to just reach that distance and your just short, it's a nice fix rather than having to relocate the equipment to fix the gap. BUT, BUT, just double check that you get the right ends. If you need male/female ends or you need male/male ends or female/female. Just double check and make sure to do it like I didn't do. I didn't pay attention when ordering them and picked up the wrong ones. oops.
