I recently moved to a new place, whereby I could afford to put a bit of distance between my PC monitor and my 42 Vizio (Excellent buy! also from bb), both hooked to my desktop (with Netflix and youtube, who needs cable?). Of course, with greater distances between monitors comes a longer cable. My 6 ft VGA no longer cut it. I purchased the currently reviewed item, which was just long enough. However when I set it up, my PC no longer recognized my LG monitor and the resolution was horrible. Refreshing it did no good, trying another same-lengthed cable did no good, and using the shorter cable to boot then switching them around did no good (per a google search suggestion). I found out that the longer your VGA cable, the more likely you will suffer from signal loss. I was unable to find such a thing as a cheap fix for this (there are much more costly, less lossy cables and expensive repeaters). This does not seem to be a problem for most buyers here, which is great for them. I ended up keeping the shorter VGA, returning the longer one for a longer HDMI and placing my tower a few feet from where I originally wanted it, so no big deal in the end.
