My Deal of the Day was a dud...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything in the box had damage except the lid -- and the truth is, I didn't even look at the lid -- I am sure I would have found it was scratched up too... Plastic part of burner on front right side came out already scratched/marred up and looks like the color/plastic has started chipping off showing white spots that do not rub off. Both the pot and pan were very cheap and both were scratched up in various places. The burner can be purchased separate for $80, so I would expect a $25 Pot and $25 Pan at suggested retail not to have any imperfections at all -- and -- be heavier than they are. The pots and pans really weren't packaged well at all. I have the 1300W induction model and this was to be an upgrade that should have been better. It had some damage too when I received it, but it did not cost nearly what this did and does work somewhat well, so I kept it. I can not do the same here as it was three times as much -- it will be returned. I did not test/play with this 1800W one as I am no longer in the happy customer mood. This is my last small appliance purchase here as I can never receive anything without damage from the store I pick my items up at -- too much wasted time an energy involved and the only one paying for my wasted gas is me.

Extra cooking station; Easy to Use; Safe
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased one of these for my wife. She was so happy with this that she bought one for her mom. PROS; Easy to use. Very consistent heat. Safe, cool to the touch surface. We use this on our kitchen island, which allows us to have an additional cooking surface. When my wife is cooking on the stove top and using the oven, there is only room for 1 person. I am able to use this and now we have 2 people cooking. CONS: You must have induction capable cookware to use this. We purchased some new stainless steel cookware with a special induction plate inside of it. We can also use all of our cast iron cookware on it. If the one that we have breaks or gets damaged, I would definitely replace it.

Worth the money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works great! It gets hot really fast. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because any pot cannot be used with it. The stainless steel pots in other stores, that the included magnet stick to, are higher in price. So if you want additional pots to use with the cooktop, you're gonna have to spend on the better ones.

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this thing. I use outside along with my smoker to whip up boiled rice, mashed potatoes and even some good ole macaroni and cheese. It heats fast and I have bought pans from outside sources for it as well. I am happy with my purchase and have encouraged other to buy.

Great introduction to induction cooking.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first induction cooktop we have ever used and we are very impressed. Works well with induction rated SS cookware and cast iron. Heats these items FAST! A heavy cast iron skillet goes from room temperature to too hot to touch in less than ten seconds. The cooking surface does, not the sides. You still need to give the sides time to transfer heat. We live at 5500 feet and level 2 is just right for a slow simmer in a 5.5 qt cast iron dutch oven. Level 4 (of 8) is a very hot saute. Temperature regulation seems good. I've never boiled over using this. The included pot and pan work well. They are not Al-Clad or Le Cruset quality but are a great compliment to the unit. If it holds up and keeps working for a couple of years, I would say it was well worth the price. So far I am quite happy.

Great for a dorm
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as a gift for a niece going to college. She says it's perfect for her dorm - she can cook real food instead of just microwaving things and doesn't have to eat out as much. Great that it comes with a pot and skillet, so she has everything she needs. I'll be getting one to take on vacations when our hotel doesn't have a kitchenette.

Q: QuestionCan any of your single or 2 burners stove tops be inserted in countertop
Asked by Jjb.
- A:Answer It is a countertop unit. Ventilation openings are on the sides and would be blocked if you recessed it into a countertop. Think of it as an extra burner that can be used anywhere there is power.

Q: Questionits 220 volt
Asked by m.
- A:Answer The Insignia NS-IC1ZPBK0 must be connected only to a 120 Volt circuit!! The circuit must be rated at least 15 Amps with no other operating appliances connected.

Q: QuestionHow many watts does it need to function? I purchased a Goal Zero Yeti 500X For camping purposes can I plug the induction cooktop to that device for power?
Asked by Boogieman.
- A:Answer The power rating for this unit is 120V/60Hz/1800W

Q: QuestionCan you cook with a cast iron skillet on this?
Asked by WineandFlipFlops.
- A:Answer Any pan that a magnet will stick to will work. There is also a magnet included in the kit.
Answered by Terry
Q: QuestionWhat type of Connection is needed for this?
Asked by KCBASS.
- A:Answer I assume your question means what electrical connection is needed. The Insignia NS-IC1ZPBK0 cooktop set requires an electrical power input of 120Vac, 60Hz, 15A minimum. Obviously, this means it must be the only appliance operating on a 15 Amp circuit at a time.
