Total junk!
|Posted .Features
Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use1 out of 5Save yourself a lot of grief and do not purchase this item. It arrived cracked in the interior in multiple places and overall has terrible quality. Can't get this out of our home fast enough. Best Buy would not even take the box off when they delivered it. I realize that during COVID-19 they would not bring it into the house but they refused to even take the box/straps off. So off they go and now I am stuck with a very damaged freezer.

Great freezer/refrigerator

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Freezer, PriceThis is a great freezer/refrigerator! We own the same brand chest freezer, so we knew the quality would be really good. We are very satisfied with the price too. I also like the fact that it can be a huge refrigerator. It’s not something that I’m probably going to use, but it’s a nice option. It has more than enough room for all of my food. I would definitely recommend this product.

product has defect & Insignia won't honor warranty
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5Cons mentioned:Doors, WarrantyDue to covid crisis - I needed a freezer and bought open box item. I was unable to view item since I couldn't go into store but saw a picture and minor scratch on door. No problem since it was going into garage. BB delivered, plugged in and I filled with food. I soon noticed that the door gasket wasn't sealing properly along the top of the door. I was getting frozen water build up in the inside along the top of the cabinet. I put a flashlight into the freezer and closed the door and could see light escape along the top. I contacted Insignia and explained and they sent out a tech to assess. He took some notes and a couple days later was told that insignia is rejecting the claim - no explanation why. They said they could fix it for 999 since it would require new hinges and door. The repair quote was higher than I paid so I can see why insignia might not want to repair - but it does seem like the should just replace. I called insignia to investigate and after 2+ hours of discussing with CSR, they tried to check something and magically, call was disconnected and when I immediately called back, the call center was closed. I called back the following day and was told that because it was open box, I have to deal directly with the store and that the service call was not "coded correctly" and that is why it was rejected. They were saying that service for this item was supposed to be carry in item / exchange. I tried to explain that this is a 17 Cubic foot freezer, over 5 feet tall and a couple hundred pounds. I do not own a pickup truck and there would be no way I could bring into the store for repair. That didn't seem to matter much. They did say that I could return to the store but I explained that it is currently full of food, so unless I have a replacement, I can't return the one I have unless I want to waste all the food that I have stored in it. Home Depot says similar models are on back order until Aug, well after any return date. I understand that the supply chain is affected by the Covid Crisis and a replacement may not be immediately available, but I am willing to wait until the supply chain is restored. I cannot understand why insignia won't stand by their product, especially since it was delivered by BB. I am now stuck with a defective product that has to work harder than designed due to the door gasket leak and will probably break in a year or two. BB was actually my first call for buying the freezer due to my experience with other appliance purchases. I was assured that an open box was cosmetic damage only and any defects would be 100% covered under warranty. So much for standing behind their products.

Not perfect, but close
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Pros mentioned:DesignThis was purchased for duel purposes. For now, we need a deep freezer, but we also move a lot and often run into rental homes with no refrigerator. The idea that this converts is very appealing. The interior is kind of lacking though, looks very cheap and bland. But, as a freezer, it's serving its purpose. The suction is strong, so we purchased a utility mat to place under it to keep it from moving every time we open the door.

Q: QuestionIs this garage ready?
Asked by Granma3.
- A:Answer I just got mine delivered yesterday and it is located in the garage. When I asked the salesman at the store, the first guy I talked to told me that it was not best to put it in the garage. When I went back, the salesman who placed my order (who also happened to be a manager in the department) told me that this model was able go in the garage because of some special coiling/insulation that is used on this particular model/brand. The guy that delivered my appliance yesterday told me that I should be good to go, especially since the fridge/freezer is sitting on a concrete platform in the garage (elevated above where our vehicles are resting before going into the house) which will protect it from getting wet.
