    Synopsis

    Kill Bill Vol. 2
Quentin Tarantino's sprawling homage to action films of both the East and the West reaches its conclusion in this continuation of 2003's ultra-violent Kill Bill Vol. 1. Having dispatched several of her arch-enemies in the first film, The Bride (Uma Thurman) continues in Kill Bill Vol. 2 on her deadly pursuit of her former partners in the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, who, in a furious assault, attempted to murder her and her unborn child on her wedding day. As The Bride faces off against allies-turned-nemeses Budd (Michael Madsen) and Elle Driver (Daryl Hannah), she flashes back to the day of her deadly wedding, and we learn of how she was recruited to join the DiVAS, her training under unforgiving martial arts master Pai Mei (Liu Chia-hui), and her relationship with Squad leader Bill (David Carradine), which changed from love to violent hatred. Originally planned as a single film, Kill Bill grew into an epic-scale two-part project totaling more than four hours in length; as with the first film, Kill Bill Vol. 2 includes appearances by genre-film icons Sonny Chiba, Michael Parks, Larry Bishop, and Sid Haig; Wu-Tang Clan producer and turntablist RZA and filmmaker and composer Robert Rodriguez both contributed to the musical score. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

      Great sequel, great movie

This movie, though very different from kill bill 1 is well crafted. Bruce Lee, originally set to play the lead role in the Eastern/Western known as Kung Fu the tv show, found himself to be replaced by David Carradine. This movie references and pays homange to the accomplishments of Bruce Lee, and the world of matrial arts, and new style action movies. The sequel entails much more psychology and diminishes the graphic violence in trade for further story line. Though when the action is there its as fierce as ever. More than your average mind numbing action film, kill bill 1 and 2 offer something a bit different. Also, look for the hidden tarantino references throughout both films. He uses several elements that go unoticied to connect all his films. Look for similar props and ads to start. Any movie collection is inferior and incomplete without the Kill Bill collection.

Of the most popular steelbook versions released for the Kill Bill series (1 & 2), the Best Buy version in my opinion is the best release to own for collectible interest. I personally like this release's individual packaging of the two films in separate steelbook cases, as oppose to a single case containing the two movies like the Zavvi version. This version's steelbook art is unique and consistent on both cases, with the samurai sword in the front and Uma Thurman in the back, unlike the Alliance release which I think the art is not at all consistent between the two cases. I purchased both steelbooks on sale for $9.99 even I already own other releases and formats of the two films, so don't hesitate to get this (and Kill Bill 1) if you like the series.

When originally made, Kill Bill 1 & 2 were one movie. It was split up due to it's excessively long length. Though, as a whole, it is an amazing movie! It is strange, however, that part 2 has been minimally altered. The differences are so minor, that you would probably need them to be pointed out to know what they are. The Japanese DVD of Kill Bill 2 is the only release of the movie that is in it's original format. If you are able to obtain the Japanese DVD version of part 1, you might as well get the Japanese DVD version of part 2. The Blu-Ray release of Kill Bill 2, however, even in Japan, is the same R rated American version. However, it is easier and cheaper to buy the American version.

The Bride (Uma Thurman) picks up where she left off in volume one with her quest to finish the hit list she has composed of all of the people who have wronged her, including ex-boyfriend Bill (David Carradine), who tried to have her killed four years ago during her wedding to another man. Leaving several dead in her wake, she eventually tracks down Bill in Mexico. Using skills she has learned during her assassin career, she attempts to finish what she set out to do in the first place. Same as Volume 1. Unsure if the Complete Cut will be released soon or was just a marketing strategy. Worth it for owning both Vol. 1 & 2 together.

Almost as Good as Kill Bill 1

This is a very good sequel to the first Kill Bill. There is a lot of things that are explained from the first Kill Bill. There are action scenes in the sequel but less than the first Kill Bill. The sequel is more intended in my opinion as an explanaion of the first Kill Bill. I did not particularly care for the ending so much becuase the fight scene didn't last long at all. I though it should have been a little bit more intensive. All in all though this was a great movie too. The Blu-ray format makes the movie even better with the high def video and sound. Its even better if you have a good surround sound system or home theater.

This is a collectible steelbook at a very affordable price. If you haven't seen either of the Kill Bill movies then this steelbook along with Kill Bill Volume 1 will make a worthy addition into your movie library, especially if you remember Black Belt Theater from years ago. Using the teaser poster art on both of the Kill Bill steelbooks was a good call. It makes both of the steelbooks much more appealing as opposed to their standard Blu-ray counterparts.

      Best sequel ever

If you want to call this a sequel, even the whole movie was filmed at one time before being split into two volumes, then this is the best sequel ever. Whereas Kill Bill 1 sets the stage and introduces us to Uma Thurman's character, this film focuses on the Bride nearing her objective of killing Bill. My favorite parts of the movie are the buried-alive scene and when David Carradine (Bill) gives his big speech about the mythology behind comic books. The only trouble with this movie is in trying to decide whether Part II is better than Part I.
