Good, but not as good as the stage version
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw the 1999 Tony Award winning revival and have performances of the original Cole Porter songs. So, watching Production Code version can be annoying to say the least. Also, some of the structural changes don't make sense such as the opening with "Cole Porter." Still, the film is enjoyable on its own terms. These are Cole Porter songs even if they are censored. And the 4K restoration is amazing. I've never seen a MGM musical look this good. I didn't get a chance to see it in 4K due to cabling issues. But, I can see how it would be fun to see the gloves and plates and kicks flying towards you. Speaking of structural changes, the movie gives "Too Darn Hot" to Lilli played by Ann Miller. I think it was done to give her an "Ann Miller" like number featuring her tap ability and her legs. Does it fit the show? No, it doesn't. Do I mind? No, I don't. Ann Miller was a triple threat (sing, dance, act) but not everything equally. You want to see her tap. This brings up a problem with the disc itself. One thing I don't like is you can't go directly to a song. The Menu only has the scenes numbered. So, you have to guess where the song is (somewhat easier if you look it up on Wikipedia).

Stunning Visuals and Sound`
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The copy of this 3d Blu Ray copy is incredible! The colors of the costumes, contrasts of flesh tones, are magnificent; the depth of the scenes, like when the cast is performing live for an audience on stage are as if you were there in the large theater. Its amazing that back in 1952-53, the 3d techniques that are used today were used then. The remastering of this print is well worth the price of admission. The songs, music and lyrics by American Iconic Genius, Cole Porter are over the top! An excellent choice in 3d or blu ray 2 D. This is real 3d, use the same passive glasses as you would in a movie theater today ( or active if you have that kind of TV).

Great to see this movie in 3D and on Blu-Ray!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent transfer of this movie to Blu-Ray. It was also nice to finally see it in 3D; the way it originally was released back in 1953. The sound and picture are excellent. Seeing all of those objects being hurled towards the screen in 3D really makes it feel like they are going to come right out of the screen. Great movie! Even better in 3D!

Kiss Me Kate looks GREAT in 3D!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's nice to finally see this movie in 3D the way it was intended to be seen. Great Blu-Ray Transfer and 3D depth. Wonder if they'll play this in an IMAX theater in 3D?? If you've got the right equipment at home to view this movie and already like this movie, you won't be disappointed.

A Favorite as a child
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remember as a child watching this film on our home TV during a Sunday film matinee. It is a GREAT old time musical based on Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. Big Actors with Big Voices in Big Stage Productions. I highly recommend removing the phones, tablets and video games from your children and introduce them to the past of great film making.

Good 3D Quality For A 62 Year Old Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie had good 3D quality for A 62 year old movie, but the movie was too long for a musical. Most of the movie took place on stage for the Kiss Me Kate production, but it could have been at least 45 minutes shorter to keep the viewers attention. The 2 gangsters in the movie added some really poor slapstick scenes that really didn't belong in this type of movie.

Good fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a real man of 3D movies but most of them are geared to a different audience. Don't care for mindless action movies so I was happy to find this get off a movie. Additionally, the price was pretty good too.
