I recently became interested in eBikes as I get older and want to stay active without getting on a treadmill or walking, which would be easier on my joints. So I started researching, was quickly overwhelmed with the information, and watched countless videos. In short, my research led me to Lectric, most of it based on their 5 stars on their website, and the common consensus was that they had the best customer service. Next, now that I knew I wanted a ebike from Lectric, I was focused on the important things, which were that it had to have a torque motor, it had to have 26-inch tires, 3 or 4 inches, Hydraulic brakes, 750 what motor, over 65 miles ranges and a large and bright display. My price point was $1500. I didn’t want a smaller eBike (the one with 20-inch tires) because it reminded me of the bikes I used to ride when I was young; I didn’t want to feel like a teenager. I wanted the step-thru model but got a high-step model in the end (more on that later). It came down to two models: the Lectric XPress 750 and the XPeak 2.0. Ultimately, the XPeak 2.0 long range won purely because of its aesthetics and 4-inch tires. I'm never mountain biking, just local town riding, and I want to get a nice workout while enjoying the fresh air. The fact that this model came with the rack, fenders, comfort seat pole, and the Elite light was a plus. However, I would have traded all those items for a more comfortable seat. After knowing which one I wanted, I went to one of my local Best Buy stores and picked it up, as they had one in stock. You may be wondering why I didn’t get it directly from Lectric; there are two reasons. I had around $500 in reward certificates, and because I am a total member, my eBike is covered for 24 months. This brings me to why I went with the XPeak 2.0 High-Step model. Best Buy doesn’t carry the XPeak 2.0 step-thru model, so I had no choice but to get the high-step model. To be sincere, I like the high-step better, I am 5’9 and 55 years young, so getting on/off isn’t bad as I feared. Assembly: It took me less than an hour, from unboxing to assembly, by myself. The scariest part was torque; not over or under tighten the screws. The instructions were straightforward. The Ride/Comforted: The look was the best part; that ride is simply effortless and smooth, regardless of elevation level. Small bumps are a non-issue; the adjustable folk isn't a gimmick; it works, which was another must-have I forgot to mention. The gear changing was so smooth. The PAS levels worked like a charm; I try to keep it between PAS 1 and 2 for a great workout and 3-4 when climbing steep hills. Overall, the bike's operations and feel are great. The display is bright and easy to read without my reading glasses. The bike feels very sturdy; I don’t know if it is because of the high-step model. FYI: I haven’t ridden a bike in 30 years. I haven’t used the throttle much, but it works fine. The only con is the seat. While the seat pole has springs, the seat itself is not comfortable for anything longer than 4-5 miles. I was constantly shifting and readjusting as I approached mile 4. (FYI: I am a male.) So I ordered a C9 seat the next day. Overall, with 17 miles on the bike within two days, this bike is a winner, and with my $500 certificates, this purchase was a no-brainer from Best Buy. I am glad I went with the Lectric brand; it is a good value with all the features, functionality, and quality you get. I didn’t view or read one bad review about this model, and Lectric's 540 plus reviews were all 5 stars. I know it is too early to give a wholehearted experience, and I will change my review as time passes, especially if my experience becomes negative. But as of now, it is one of the best purchases I have made in a while, and I'm glad my local Best Buy had it in stock. A quick note: When I started my eBike research journey, I set out to get a folding bike because the thought of throwing it in my car and going to a local park seemed appealing. It still does, but the tall bike with a 26-inch wheel was more appealing, and they don’t come in a folding style. I am pleased with the Lectric XPeak 2.0 Long Range model, my first e-bike. I hope this review helps someone!!!
