The TRUTH about the processor....
Posted .There has been some argument over whether or not this machine is the correct specs. Here is the specs on the box and also the specs that are listed on the BB site. Clearly this can be confusing. The accelerated processor may reach speeds of 2.4Ghz, but the base speed is 1.8Ghz. So if you are replacing another computer, you will want to make sure that you are replacing it with an equal or better processor. BB needs to make sure that the listings for processor specs are consistent. Most of the time, the base speed is listed first, then followed by the highest clock speed if it is an accelerated processor. In the case of this listing.... they only listed the highest clock speed. This would is like posting the top speed of a car at 120mph.... only to find out that the car is really a Ford Focus Wagon. it may go that fast, but for the most part, it's just a four -cylinder economy car. The bottom line is that this is a cheap computer with a lot of storage space... (much like the Ford Focus Wagon I mentioned.) I attached pictures of the specs from BB and the specs that you will see on the box. Decide for yourself. As for me, I took mine back and bought something else.

1 star for being misleading
Posted .When I ordered this laptop, it was advertised as having 6GB of ram. When it arrived, it only had 4GB of ram. I see that some other recent reviewers have had this same problem and now the product description on this website has been changed to 4GB, along with my receipt. So now I have 2 receipts, the original with 6GB and now a new one with 4GB. **As for this laptop's functionality as a 4GB machine, I will say that it still seems like a decent laptop for average everyday tasks. Although I have only used it for the duration of one evening, I did not experience any problems with it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice laptop at a low price, such as, students (with the purchase of Microsoft Office). As for the gamers out there, it might be able to handle some light gaming, but it is not exactly a gaming quality laptop. It does have a lightweight/thin design and seems to run quietly. Unfortunately, I will be returning this laptop tomorrow though, only because I need more ram. I will include a screenshot of the real specs for others who are curious.

Good Value
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI need to qualify this by saying that I've only had this laptop for 4 days. So, I can't speak to long term quality issues. That said, I have compared this to the HP G7 that I had for over 3 years. Clearly, the physical quality of this laptop is superior. The keyboard has a much more solid feel and the case seems good as well. The performance is probably about the same as my G7. Given that this was less expensive, about $100 less, I'd say it's an excellent value. I really like the slim profile and the processor seems to run a lot cooler. I don't do serious computing and no gaming so I can't speak to that. It does a good job of streaming Youtube and other internet functions are good. So far I'm very satisfied with this laptop. For someone checking email and streaming videos I'd say this is a very good deal. I have done a little with Excel and that ran just fine. I have yet to burn CDs or DVDs so I may update this later if I can.

a robust laptop for a low price
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI have purchased many lap tops in the past several years. Always Lenovo has come as the best out of all, especially considering the ruggedness and value for money. Also they have given me the least headaches. This Lenovo is also uo to that standard. at times I felt the video player (online on google chrome) was sluggish. But once the cache is cleared, it works perfectly. I am pretty happy with this.

Great Laptop for the money!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this model when the website stated it was a 6GB version. After the initial letdown about it only being a 4GB version I have since found that it's a very lightweight fast laptop. It's a great laptop for most uses and I have tested its gaming potential, although that fell short. Best Buy customer service has been great overall and this laptop does everything I'd want to do.

Happy with it--good, basic laptop
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendFirst of all, the price on this can't be beat at $279.99. For the specs, I don't think there is anything better out there. But its not a high-end gamer, just a basic, decent internet and word processing machine. Watching videos and doing basic stuff is no problem. If that's what you are looking for, than buy up. If you want to do bigger and better things, get a machine with better specs (and a much higher price!).

Great laptop overall/minor screen issue
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendMy only complaint with the Lenovo laptop is how flimsy the sides are around the screen. I already had to return one after a month due to the screen having lines going across and just touching the sides of the screen made it worse, which I believe broke from where I touched the sides and pushed open in the same spot every day. So now I'm really careful on where I touch and push it open and do it very gently. But overall if they could just reinforce that a little better the computer itself is fast and easy to use and comes with a lot of apps. Has ample storage and still sounds great for music. Crisp, clear screen when its not broken, great definition. Keyboard is nice and comfortable but the mouse is a little touchy. You'll just have to adjust settings on your mouse until you're comfortable with it. Extremely thin and fits perfectly in my desk drawer. The DVD button to open the tray is a little touchy. May not always open and have to push harder for it to open.

A very good economy laptop. Avoid prior reviews.
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendFirst off, this is not a big desktop replacement. It is not powerful enough to be used like that. But it is a very good economy laptop. It does everything I need and then some. If you need additional RAM, you can get it for a lot less than the cost that is added to a 6GB Lenovo laptop. The two other reviews have NOTHING to do with this product at all. They are complaining about issues involving the Best Buy website information, not the laptop itself. They never used this laptop.
