    Bought the entire Black Stainless kitchen suite on 7/25/15. Had Best Buy install (which was fantastic). Looks fabulous - everything was great. Then, I felt so cool and sophisticated with my snazzy new kitchen appliances. On November 25, 2016 (day after Thanksgiving), fridge died. Lost everything. Called Best Buy and was told that since I did not buy an extended warranty (remember, this was a $3,600 top of the line LG fridge), Best Buy could neither repair nor recommend a third-party service. So, I contacted AE Home Services (Sears) and AE Factory Service came the following week to diagnose ($99). Because I had unplugged the fridge while cleaning out $1,000 worth of spoiled food, the tech had to return the next day (no one told me that the fridge has to be plugged in for 24 hours to diagnose a problem). Guy comes back and says it's the compressor. Orders the part and tells us installation is scheduled for 12/19/16. Tech returns on 12/19 puts in a new compressor and drier filter. Tells us to wait 24 hours for the fridge to fully cool down. We wait 2 days - nothing is cold. Chilled fridge but not cold. Freezers not cold at all - even warmer than the fridge box. Call AE Service, next available date for a diagnosis is January 4, 2017. They remind us that this is just the diagnostic visit - that if a part is needed it will be even longer before the fridge is fixed. I call AE service headquarters. No help. We visit Best Buy and speak with the manager to see if we can make an exchange. No "lemon" policy at Best Buy. We must deal with LG. We've called over 12 people... have been transferred literally all over the place between LG and AE. LG referred us to certified service repair people in Louisville KY. One number's voicemail was full - unable to leave a message. The other number was for a television and radio repair only business. We called LG customer service and asked to speak to a supervisor. They are all off on Friday 12/23 through Tuesday 12/27 for the Christmas holidays. We called AE again and spoke with: Heidi, Devon, Lisa, Desiree', and someone I forgot to ask their name. Were told to call every day and ask if there was a cancellation that day. Seriously. They actually told us to call every day and ask for a date. We called the repair guy "Ron" who supposedly fixed the fridge on 12/19 and were told he is going out of town for a week, but he told his manager about it - but there was nothing available before 1/4/17 for a diagnosis. People... this is a beautiful machine... it looks elegant with the dishwasher, stove, and microwave. It's truly lovely. It just doesn't keep your food cold or froze. So, it you want the most expensive cooler available ($3,600) by all means buy one today! However, it would be cheaper to buy a Yeti (oh, yeah... I forgot to mention that we had to buy two Yeti coolers on Thanksgiving weekend just to keep the basics in the house - those were $399 each). A nice NON-certified repair man explained to my husband how to fill the fridge with dry ice to help us get through until January... Seriously? I have to buy dry ice to have food in the house? This particular LG French Door Black Stainless refrigerator is a LEMON. If you buy one, I wish you the patience of a saint and have this advice: BUY THE WARRANTY. This should be a crime - to require a warranty for a top of the line appliance - but BUYER BEWARE. Without one, you're toting bags of ice for months. Thanksgiving weekend through Christmas and New Years... NO REFRIGERATOR. I keep telling myself this country was built by people who traveled across it in covered wagons and no snazzy looking appliances - I just didn't expect to spend THOUSANDS of dollars on LG appliances and have the "roughing it, camping out" experience through the holidays.

    Great fridge, awesome color

    We have only owned this fridge for a few days at this point. If we experience problems in the future with it I will post any updates here. For a counter depth fridge it feels spacious. We are able to fit most of our food, drinks, frozen items with some room to spare. The chill drawer is nice for storing drinks, wine, or deli meats & cheese. It adds some convenience in being able to access theses items without having to open the fridge, and I do like being able to keep that drawer colder than the main fridge unit for extra cold drinks. I imagine this would be good for children who can't reach up into the fridge easily to grab drinks or snacks. My only complaint with space is the height between the shelves prevents you from storing tall items, they will need to go in the shelves on the doors. The shelves are adjustable in height which would solve that problem. The color is beautiful. It's a very polished dark stainless steel. We have a white/gray kitchen that it matches very nicely with. Originally I was worried it would not match very well with normal stainless steel appliances but that is not the case, it's a real eye catcher and stands well on its own in our kitchen. The unit is very quiet in our home, we cannot hear it running normally. When installing, there is a cap/sticker on the water filter that needs to be removed before you can get water / ice.     Broke in 1 Year, Took 1 Month to Repair

    The refrigerator is great when it's functioning properly. But the fan went out after one year, and when this happens, the cooling system fails, and your food spoils. I have Geek Squad Protection, but it took them nearly ONE MONTH to resolve the issue. They scheduled an incompetent, third-party service center to come out and diagnose the problem. 1-week later a tech arrives, diagnoses the problem, and orders the parts. Except they ordered the wrong parts, which put us out a functioning refrigerator in the middle of summer for another 2-weeks. After a maddening back and forth with the third party service center and a visit from an actual Geek Squad Tech (who was competent and nice) we slowly found the path to getting our fridge repaired. The customer service from Best Buy was really lousy. 45-minute hold times, being told different information from EVERY representative we spoke with, no one really offering viable solutions-- it was an exhausting, disheartening process to get our fridge up and running again. Filled out a Food Spoilage Claim to recoup some of our food/money loss, and now we're getting emails from Best Buy saying that they can't open the requisite PDFs of our claim, receipt, and work order. It just never ends. The bottom line, if your fridge fails, make sure to have a Geek Squad Tech come out to visit first. Turns out the only GS tech in our area was on vacay when our fridge died, so we had to grin and bear the incompetence of the third party service center. The tech who successfully repaired the fridge said that the fan he replaced has been upgraded to mitigate future breakdowns. I'll let you know if I encounter any other issues. Fridge: 5 out of 5 when it's working. Best Buy Customer Service on this particular incident: 0 out of 5

    Failed in under 2 years and can't be repaired.


    We've now been without refrigeration in the kitchen for 70 days. (We're getting by with our Frigidaires in the garage). This LG failed on 3/29/18 and there are very few techs available for service. (All tech service below arranged via LG or per their instruction) (We didn't buy BB extended warranty, because all of our previous fridges have lasted 20+ years) The first tech appointment (2 weeks post-failure) arranged by LG was a no-show, The second tech appointment (4 weeks post-failure) diagnosed replacements and ordered them. The third tech service replaced the compressor, condenser and circuit board, but the new circuit board failed, so the original was put back in, but the unit stopped cooling hours after departure. The fourth tech service was a no-show, and the next available was 2 weeks later (all of these services are about 2 weeks apart) The fifth tech service replaced the circuit board again, but it's troubleshooting light blinked 6 times indicating a compression problem. The tech (A&E) called his national tech support (STAC) and they diagnosed that there is an internal restriction problem (Yoder condenser loop) which is can't be repaired. We are now trying to get a replacement from LG. They say the tech "didn't call their engineers". We have confirmed that A&E/Sears transmitted the report to LG on 6/1/18 and 6/7/18.

    My wife and I are (sheepishly) PROUD about our beautiful and "cool" new LG refrigerator ! I researched the heck out of many, many refrigerators (style, features, brands, quietness, convenience, color options, etc., etc.) We confidently chose LG, counter-depth (wife priority), black stainless (my choice- very cool). I could go on and on but LG had many attractive sale points- allegedly thee quietest, owner and professional top reviews, really smooth but "tight"/ non-rattle drawers, etc. BUT a weird quirk on my part was the final sale point, and virtually nobody talked about THIS very best factor ! I personally really dislike 99% of the brands for the size/shape of their ice cubes ! Those half moon shaped cubes fit "obnoxiously-perfect" in the bottom of a typical glass, forming a dam. NOT these LG cubes which are exactly the same half-moon shape BUT less than half the size. My wife says they are "cute." Love it ! I cannot say enough about the EXCELLENT service Best Buy gave us, from showroom floor advice, choice of models, to free delivery. And the delivery guys were super ! Very, very careful on our old oak doorways. To get the frig in the house, they had to take off its doors ! No problem; no complaints. Kept smiles on their faces and took everything in stride. I am very pleased from A to Z. Highly recommend our "4-door French LG" to all. Got a great sale from BB, and FREE delivery.

    Although the fridge did not fit through my door the first time the delivery men came, the next guys installed it quickly and when promised, once a handyman took off the kitchen door. I read a lot of reviews on a number of sites before I decided to buy this one, and I finally bought it during the Labor Day sale. It is not as capacious as my previous fridge, making me think I did not need to get the counter depth model. Nevertheless I am happy with it so far, after a couple of weeks. I'm using the center drawer as a freezer and I love it. Also the large freezer has good organizing aspects, the separate pull out storage is terrific for keeping things easy to find. I don't have plumbing to tHe fridge so don't use the ice maker---I wish I could have one without an ice maker, it is just a waste of space for me. But at least this model is designed so that there is lots of shelf room, plus storage on each door. I had the thought that I could freeze ice cubes and put them in the ice cube container in the door and be able to get ice from the outside ice spout....but I haven't tried it. I like the vegetable drawer design, divided into three drawers so that I can get into one without having to open both doors, as I had to with mymprevious fridge. I find the little flat containers in the front are unexpectededly handy. The stainless steel dresses up my kitchen, but I do miss using magnets to hang notes and photos etc. mainly I'm quite happy with this fridge.

    I purchased this item as an open-box item from best buy. The sales tag only listed "missing manuals" as the only issue as well as a small dent in the side of it. Not a big deal, I figured I could easily find that online and the dent would be hidden once installed. Had the fridge delivered and installed. Few hours after installation noticed the upper section wasn't keeping cool and there was an error code on the control panel. Long, long story short the "brains" of the upper fridge section was fried and had to have a geek squad rep repair it. It was a terrible pain to get the fridge working. I have to say Pacific Sales reps are really bad and pretty much wanted nothing to do with me. The headache of getting my "new" fridge repaired really ruined my Best Buy experience. In the end (after about 3 weeks of having a broken fridge) it all worked out, I received a call from the manager and got a credit back to my account for all my trouble and I do LOVE this fridge. My only complaint about the fridge is the Easy Reach Tempered Glass sections are kind of useless. The tempered glass isn't secure and gets displaced too easily for my liking. I still haven't found a good use for these sections. Other than that, its spacious, provides excellent cooling, is energy efficient and to top it off, the black stainless steel looks absolutely amazing. 5 stars for the fridge, minus 1 star for the horrible purchase experience.

    I shopped for a fridge for months looking for a good deal to replace a 15-yr old side by side GE Profile. I wanted something modern that would last for years but didn't want to pay too much. Narrowed it down to 4 door fridges to satisfy my need for modern but they were all soooo expensive. Bought this one on sale which made my husband happy, but he still felt like, "we spent too much." Then it was delivered! We have thoroughly enjoyed everything about this fridge. The middle drawer is so useful for drinks and kids snacks. The fruit/veggie drawers are surprisingly deep and hold a lot more than we thought they would. The freezer in our old fridge was always packed so tight we couldn't find anything. This freezer has plenty of space and it's so much easier to find items looking down at them laying flat in the drawer vs piled up on shelves. The only negative is it's hard to find door space for tall drink bottles (2 liters, wine, OJ). We can fit one or two in the very front, but if we push them back we can't get them in and out easily. We have to lay the rest on their sides on one of the shelves, which makes me nervous after they've been opened. The ice maker in the LG doesn't block the top shelf like all the other brands, saving vital shelf space. Also love the small square ice cubes.
