LG - 24" XL Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher - White

I write this review while sitting waiting for the dishwasher repair man for the 4th time in 6 months. When this unit is working, I am very happy, it's quiet, does a better job cleaning dishes than any prior dishwasher I have owned, but this thing is simply not reliable. I have gone through 1 control board, 1 motor/heater, 1 drying fan and have no idea what is wrong this time. If I were to do it all over, I would seriously consider another brand with a better track record.

we purchased this dishwaher 1 month ago, we love it because it has great cleanability,and grinds up particles of food very well so that there are no food on your clean dishes,the best inovation -- no more coil in the bottom of the dishwasher, my pLastic utensils are no longer melted to any coils, "WHAT A GREAT IDEA", I have ruined so many plastic items with my old dishwasher, I also like the push button controls,and the dishwasher is easy to operate,---the white exterior is simple to keep clean,"what a revolution".YOU DID IT AGAIN LG, THIS IS OUR THIRD OUTSTANDING APPLIANCE"

I tried for days to get this to work properly and finally gave up. It cleaned worse than my 16-year-old GE that it replaced! I called LG for help and read all the troubleshooting advice. I measured the detergent carefully, trying a couple of different brands and putting in the recommended rinse aid. I just don't think it was engineered that well and without heated drying, everything had spots. The wonderful part of this story is that I went back to Best Buy to return it within the first two weeks, bringing in one of the disgustingly dirty glasses from my last load, and they cheerfully let me choose another brand. I didn't get charged twice for installation or anything. (Of course, I'm scared to death that the new Kitchenaid won't work properly and then I'll look like a fool if I want to return that one!) I'd recommend my Best Buy but not this LG.

I reviewed the model 5811BB with poor results. Eventually, after navigating the LG empire to finally get an exchange after my product could not be fixed, I "upgraded" to this model. So here we go again. It isn't cleaning the dishes well...and the service man didn't fix it with the first try. One week of waiting for service, and no results...back to waiting.

This was a good buy. I was looking at Maytag, but discovered their no-service quality may no longer be true. This machine is soooo quiet, it doesn't disturb TV in the other room or guests sleeping at night. I love it.
