Greatest Oven

This is the greatest oven i have ever owned....it's perfect.
Bad reviews: warranty issues with LG, thats why I get the extended warranty through Best Buy, and I have never had a problem with Best Buy. I call Best Buy Geek Squad and tell them my problem, they send a tech out and fix my problem. Another bad review is that the back burners are too close to the control panel, and I'm thinking that they are trying to put a big pot on the small rear burner, because that's the only problem that I can find.
I love the double ovens, and I mostly use the upper oven for single items. Cooking breakfast I'll cook bacon in the main oven, and biscuits in the upper oven. Thanksgiving dinner: I put a 22 pound turkey in the main oven, and the stuffing in the upper oven and it all came out perfect.
Then only problem I have with this product is the timer, when the timer sounds it plays a musical tune which fine, but it's not loud enough. I have it set to the loudest setting, i have dog ears... I can hear the tiniest sound through a closed door while standing outside, but I can't hear this timer.

Love my double oven!

When this came out last year I put off buying it until there were enough rating & reviews to judge it. This was my Birthday gift in September and I love it! The one thing I knew when I bought it was the lower oven will be very low to remove items so there is an adjustment period getting used to it. Not a big deal considering I now have a double oven and did not have to remodel my kitchen to get it. The musical sounds it makes to let you know it preheated, times up, etc are awesome. I use the top, smaller oven 80% of the time so less oven space to heat. Flash broiler works great and so far I have used the steam cleaning and was happy with it. Trick is don't let the oven get greasy build up before cleaning it. Also having the slightly textured range top is a bonus as it cleans easier and does not show those irritating swipe marks from cleaning like my old glass top range did.

Great stove for a cooker

This stove is absolutely great! Water boils faster, you get two ovens in one, and the oven heats up real quick! No need to wait around while trying to cook something. The musical tune it plays when it notifies you sends joy into my heart :) It can be a bit hard to hear if you are in another room, but it comes up on the screen that the cycle is complete. So far it has been a wonderful purchase.

Excellent Range for the Price

Of course there are better ranges out there but they are 1500 to 2000 more. And if you're like me you can think of better things to do with your money then buy something just because it costs more. We own a Maytag double oven at our old house so we knew it was must to have the same setup in our newly remodeled kitchen. The bottom oven is convection which makes cooking happen more evenly. The small oven has infrared for cooking steaks (just like grilling). The purple color on the inside is neat to look but serves a better purpose of easy clean. Just spray water...clean for 20 minutes and wipe away the dirt...no more 4 hour later cleanings, where the entire house smells like old burned food. I would totally recommend this product over and over again. If you plan on buying this visit your local post office and get a change of address packet (inside is usually a coupon for 10% off Best Buy).

Love the Double Oven

This is not my first double oven so when we upgraded the kitchen and went with black stainless a double oven was a must. Although we had checked into LG proper we did not specifically review this stove until after it was purchased. This is a true double with two separate compartments. Its super convenient to have both and although I had not used a convection oven prior too, the lower oven has convection which I have now tried. This model does not offer any knobs but all touch screen on the back panel. Everything is self explanatory and easy to follow. I am a fan of electric flat top cooking and would not change to gas. I am huge on keeping the top clean so I never have any "burn" rings. I've always kept the inside of the oven compartments clean, the blue interior on this stove allows for a steam clean feature which sounds super convenient for interior cleaning, I've not had to use it. After our purchase I read a review where someone said there was no timer, this is completely false as it has one for each oven which can be used independently as well. Our salesman Tim D of Tosa Best Buy was super knowledgeable and wonderfully helpful. I have had the stove for a month.

After much thought when our old range control panel went out, we decided on this model because of the double ovens and its top ratings by a leading, consumer magazine. Another big selling point for us was the proof feature on the bottom (convection) oven. We do a lot of baking (including gluten free breads) and thought this feature would be useful. It works well to raise the dough before we move it into the top (conventional) oven for baking.
The convection oven is new for us, so we're still trying things with it, but it has been good so far. We have baked 2 trays of cookies at a time in the oven with great results in convection mode. They don't brown as much as with a conventional oven, but cook very evenly. The bottom oven can also be used as a conventional oven if desired. However, it is necessary to bend down quite a bit to take things into/out of the bottom oven because it is so low; and we almost have to kneel on the floor to see through the window.
The top oven is small, but will hold a traditional bread pan. It has some quick modes for pizza, nuggets and fries; but we haven't tried them. The oven worked fine for both fresh and frozen pizzas and fries with just a timer. It also has a quick broil feature that seems to come on during a typical bake cycle as well, but just for a couple of seconds at a time. I haven't found anything in the owner's manual about that, so I suppose it's normal. I have yet to see the bottom bake element glow in the top oven when heating like it did in our old oven, but I guess if the food gets cooked it must be working correctly. The infrared broiler did a good job broiling pork chops--much more even than our old element broiler.
The stove-top also works great. The two front burners have dual elements for large pots and there is a warming burner that we have used to keep water warm for tea after it boils. The burners heat quickly and do not seem to spread heat much across the glass surface. Our last stove had coil burners and these are much faster, but we have dropped our cooking temps down from what we were used to on our old stove. Typically I used to cook eggs on medium (5) and now I am using 3.5-4.
My biggest complaint with this oven is the mass of buttons on the control panel and it's not really much of a gripe. I can't imagine what that would cost to replace though. To run the stove-top burners, you have to press on, then press + or - quite a few times to get to the setting you want. The lower settings go 2.2, 2.4, 2.6, 2.8, etc. with each button press until you get to 3.0 then it goes to 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, etc. up to high which is 10. You can start at either high or low and work towards the other end. Each oven has its own set of controls and timer too, but at least there's a numeric keypad to put in the oven temperature you want.
The convection oven automatically drops your bake temperature by 25 degrees (so 350 becomes 325 in convection mode). Also, the oven sounds like a calliope. It sings different tunes when you turn it on, then when it reaches temperature and when the timer is done. The tones are pleasant enough and not overly loud compared to our last oven. They can be heard from other rooms, but I'd rather have just a simple signal noise.
I tried using the steam clean feature on the top oven and was somewhat under-impressed with it. Once the food is baked on, I think you've got to go to the high-temp cleaning to get the heavy soils off. The oven does come with a spray bottle that you use to spray the interior with before running the steam cycle. I used distilled water because our domestic water is pretty hard and I expect it would leave build-up.
If you are going to use both ovens simultaneously, I recommend preheating one oven and then turning on the second one. That should even out the load a bit so both ovens aren't heating at the same time. It also seems that with the bottom oven on, the top oven runs a bit hot, so definitely put the higher temperature baking in the top if it will fit when using both ovens.
Overall, we are very happy with the purchase and would buy the oven again. It is pricey and was more than we were initially expecting to spend, but has lots of features that we found useful. The biggest of which is the double oven. I am sure it will get a real test come holiday time, but we baked two homemade pizzas (one in each oven) just fine...and no waiting for the second pizza!

I use my oven to cook a lot of small and large meals. The dual door allows me to easily cook things simultaneously. The small door allows me to cook/reheat things like pizza etc. The large door is big enough to cook full sized truly dinners. The upper (smaller) oven cooks a bit faster than the lower section but a smaller area heats up faster. The stove is a pleasure to cook on and boils water very quickly. The stainless steel is very easy to keep clean and free of finger prints on this model. I couldn't be more pleased with this oven/range and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new unit.

A real time saver especially when cooking large meals. Very beautiful, futuristic and intuitive controls. We absolutely love everything about this range. Easy to clean, and keep looking attractive. Does an excellent job cooking, baking and we especially enjoy the convection oven and the grilling broiler in the upper oven. I don't think we'll ever eat out again. This range makes cooking for our family and friends so much fun. We absolutely love it.

A:AnswerThank you for your question!
Cooking on an LG Electric Smooth Top Range will work very well with all heavy-gauge pans. The most important thing to ensure is the pan has a flat bottom to ensure proper heat transfer. Everything from Stainless Steel pots and pans, to cast iron, enameled dutch ovens, or even flat-bottom woks are great for a Smooth Top Electric Range. Make sure that the weight of the handle does not tilt pan and that the pan is well balanced.
For ideal energy efficiency, use pan sizes that match the amount of food to be prepared and the size of the surface element.
A:AnswerThe reason that the power cord does not come with the LG 6.7 cu. ft. Capacity Electric Double Oven Range with Infrared Grill and EasyClean™, Model # LDE3037ST is because Double Oven Electric Convection Ranges that have an amp rating of 40 amps, 208/240V rating when installed in Mobile Homes, recreational vehicles and in installations where local codes do not allow grounding through the neutral wire will require a 4-conductor UL listed range cord or 4 wire conduit connection as dictated for new branch-circuit installations (1996 NEC) This appliance must be installed and grounded on a branch circuit by a qualified technician in accordance with the latest edition of the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA No.70. You may happen to live in a building that requires a 3 Wire receptacle (10-50R) as you will find in many older buildings or maybe one that requires a 4 Wire receptacle (14-50R), as required for new buildings and constructions after Jan 01 1996. All wiring should conform to Local and NEC codes, and that ultimately will determine which cord you need to get for the appliance...^IFV
A:AnswerThrough price matching, you should be able to get this for around 1300. On Black Friday last year, it was as low as 1250. I didn't wait because I needed to replace my range immediately.
A:AnswerHi. Not sure this is the answer you're looking for, but I would think it is still safe to use as long as it's not continuing to flake off and would end up in the food.
I am not an expert, but I think the coating is primarily to aid in the self-cleaning feature of the oven. Sorry, but I don't have any idea if can can be repaired or where to go to find out.
