Q: How much "open space" must be left behind this unit? My space is only 33" deep, is that enough?
A: The official depth is 30.38". The largest item behind the machine is the dryer vent, unless you vent it to the side. If venting from the rear there should be plenty of room for the rest--hoses and electric, unless your situation is unusual. There are also flat dryer vents that can save room, if you need it. (See the product I added to this post.) Note that in the front, the cabinet of the machine is about 29" deep, the doors protrude about 1.25". In my case, a wall is 30" deep, the cabinet of the machine ended up a bit beyond the 30" wall & the doors protrude a bit more, but to my eye, it looks fine. It's a walkway in front of my machine, so I am concerned about depth, but it's fine. In the photo, the cabinet looks about even with the shoe moulding.

LG Washtower
My wife wanted the LG Wash Tower when they first came out but we weren’t in the need for a new unit. Then last month out washer stopped working so I took the opportunity to run out and buy a new one. Ironically the wash tower was the only one that was available that day. It was on sale for $800 off the original price. They had it in stock so I took it home. It’s everything I hoped it would be. Stylish, and extremely efficient and very quiet. I’d give it 10 stars if it were an option. It’s compact and yet offers very large capacities. While stacked together the unit is very heavy (330 lbs). If you read the installation manual it does come apart to move it easier if needed. In my case, our laundry hookups are upstairs on the second story of our home so I’m sure glad it came apart. Very pleased and would absolutely recommend this to everyone

Best Space Saving Stackable
This is absolutely the best space saving stackable on the market today. The washer is surprisingly roomy. The dryer never over-dries. The control panel in the middle idea is genius. There is nothing I do not like about this combo. Worth every penny. Oh, and did I tell you it looks great?

Modern and Powerful Washer-Dryer Combo
Excellent washer dryer tower combo with digital touch controls and ample space for bedding. The modern technology allows it to wash with less detergent per cycle and the dryer when set on heavy will dry the heavier towels and bedding. One thing to consider is that it's weight makes it very difficult to move alone especially if your dryer duct that connects to wall has a moisture and lint problem you have to be consistently moving the tower. So definitely try and have a tool for moving it safely and with supervision.
