Q: How many lbs. max of dry laundry can I put in to wash at one time?
A: The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 5.0 cu.ft. Mega Capacity Top Load Washer, Model # WT7200CW can also hold 20-22 pounds of laundry. The difference of 0.2 cubic feet between this model and the WT7500CW does not make a difference in terms of load capacity limits, but again, please keep in mind that while it is economical in both utility costs and time management to do full loads, you should never cram clothes and overstuff a washer just because you can. You also need to consider that the type of load will also make a big difference. 20 pounds of shirts is a lot different to 20 pounds of towels when they get wet...^IFV
Q: How long does it take for a normal normal wash cycle?
A: For normal without fabric softener button or extra rinse its about 38 min. With fabric soft button its about 49 min. When fab soft button is not activated it does the the fast spray rinse instead of a tub fill rinse.
A: I don't know much about the extra water default feature but will share my experience with you: For the first loads I did on my new machine (bed sheets), I expected the water level in the wash cycle to come up to the top of the wet laundry (as described in the information booklet). It didn't. When I called the 800 number, the woman there told me to press the "more water" button and also to press the "add fabric softener" button - even though I was not adding softener. That worked pretty well on other normal loads until I decided to wash a single king size blanket. Using the bedding cycle and not pressing either of the additional buttons, the water did not stop at the top of the wet blanket - but filling continued to the very top of the drum - higher than on any load before. The third time this happened, I called the LG 800 number again to find out how to lower the water level and prevent water waste, and did the "diagnostic" test with the cell phone facing the control panel. Was told it all looked OK and was asked what kind of water hoses hooked the machine to the faucets. My answer: metal clad as recommended by the store and installers. After a pause on hold, she came back to say that only rubber hoses should have been used as the metal on the hoses interfered with the water sensor on the washing machine. When I reported this to the store (Best Buy in Park City, UT), the assistant manager told me they always sold the metal-clad hoses with their machines and had never heard of this before. He said he would check with the LG Rep, and when he called me back, he suggested they replace the machine and install the new one with rubber hoses to be on the safe side. They did and all seems fine so far. Good luck
