If you're reading this review you already know what this case is for: total protection. It is expensive, but not nearly as expensive as replacing a S8. The case is two halves, front and back, that snap together and seal against water and dust. Though the case completely surrounds the phone it is not what I would consider bulky despite adding some length and thickness. I'm a bigger guy and the case still easily slips in and out of my front pocket and sits inside it comfortably. The aux port is sealed with a threaded plug (which requires the included adapter to use) and the USB-C port is a hinged door. The USB-C port is easy to open and gracious in size and shouldn't interfere with most cables. The aux plug can be a bit of hassle to unscrew (more so if you install it too tightly), but with the rise of wireless audio that's a non-issue to me. The fingerprint scanner, camera, and flash are three separate windows. The window material doesn't seem to effect the picture quality too much that I can tell as long as you do your part and clean your camera and the window before installation. The screen protector is very clear and responsive. As others have pointed out in other reviews across the internet there is a SLIGHT problem with the screen protector, however I feel it is exaggerated. The edges of the cases screen are curved and fit the phone well, but it does not adhere to the screen like standalone protectors so there are are points where there may be slight separation. It does NOT result in bubbles, but you can tell where the protector is against the screen via the "rainbow" effect. You may need to adjust your typing habits if you press extremely lightly, but it is expected from adding a layer of anything over a touchscreen. I have not noticed a sound quality issue with the case and there is still adequate volume. I'm not aware of a call quality issue: no one I've called have mentioned having issues understanding me talk. The reasons it doesn't get the fifth star: The case is great and conveniently that's that BB describes 4 stars as, but not perfect. The aux plug is attached to the case with a small tether, but when the two halves are separated the tether easily slides off its mount (it fell off no less than five times while installing my phone) and the plug can get lost. It's easy enough to reinstall, but the odds of losing it during installation are moderate. The case snaps around the edges, but there are spots where it will is more difficult to do than others. For me its between the volume and brixby buttons. It is still waterproof (tested per instructions), but not sitting flush is visually aggravating. Next, the material on the face half has a nice rubbery feel that is easy to hold and I love it. Unfortunately, that material is ONLY on the front (which is basically only around the screen) with the back is a slightly textured plastic that has no real grip feel to it. Lastly is the cost. Quality products demand a premium, absolutely, but this case is nearly double the cost of some of its direct competition (Otterbox, for example) and four times the price of the "average" case. Do I NEED this level of protection considering the cost of the case and water resistant feature of the phone? Probably not. Do I have total peace of mind with this case on my phone? Absolutely.

Waterproof wise this case does a great job but after 3-4 months the buttons on the sides of the case dont press the button on the phone & I have to literally press & hold the case a specific way then press the button to get it to work. Ive taken off the case n reseated everything but still no fix. Finally broke down & filed a claim with lifeproof n got a replacement. New case came in the mail & everything was great for a few months then it went right back to the problem again this time being the volume buttons (previous case was the screen lock button) Now first thing many ppl woukd say is ita the way I treat my phones... well thats not the case cause I rarely if ever drop my phone, dont sit on it, kids dont mess with it, etc... Im ordering a new case via warranty again but ill likely just save it in a drawer & buy a different brand to use with everyday situations.

I've bought around ten of these cases on different iPhone and and a s8. I've been using them myself for a years and give them as gifts. They protect your phone well, although on my iPhones, the case would create a slight vibration noise from the earphone on calls. On my s8 case there was a defect where the buttons wouldn't line up so I couldn't hit volume up or down on the side. I took it back to best buy and got a replacement without issue. The best part of these cases is the lifetime warranty. When you scratch it or wear it out, you just go to Lifeproof's site for a replacement. Theyve only ever asked me for a case's serial number (usually placed on the inside on the case itself), the date of purchase, and 4.99$ shipping and handling.

I bought this case for my s8 and I couldn't be happier!!! Its truly an extension of my phone. It completely keeps my phone safe from water, cracks, and every other type of potential damage all while making my phone still look great and not bulky and keeping it very light. Its completely water proof. I also love that the usb part keeps the charger port from wiggling around and eventually breaking it. I have 2 cons with this case which still doesn't take down any stars for me especially since I got it on sale for $55 rather than t mobile trying to get me to spend $89 on it. The cons are that sometimes you have to press down hard on screen to type in correct letter. The screen is not completely flush to the phone. The other con is that the case slightly muffles the sound. For the price, these are not deal breakers at all!!!

    Slightly inconvenient and button issue

So I've had the case for about a month and have a few gripes about it. First of all, in order to use most headphones or, say, plug in an aux cord to the headphone jack you have to screw in a connector. This is because the hole for the headphone jack is too small due to the addition of threads for a watertight seal. Screwing in the adapter is a nuisance, but ultimately this is a just minor gripe. The real issue I have with this case which has become apparent in just the past couple days is that my volume buttons stick now, or rather I can't press them. Generally happens to just the top volume button, but this is a major drawback! I almost have to remove my phone from the case just to adjust the volume. The case worked fine for a month, but this issue may have me buying a new case altogether.

I've had this since I bought my phone about 6 weeks ago. I paid full price for this and expect at such price I'd get a quality product with zero issues due to design flaw. Such is not the case (pun intended). The power/black out button on the right side of case just doesn't line up well at all. It worked when originally installed at the store. But dummies at the store did not clean fingerprints and it was bothering me. I took it off the phone and cleaned the screen and case window, and ever since, that button doesn't work. I feel totally ripped off because I have to take it out of the case (yes I asked how to do properly before leaving the store) to turn off or restart. And forget about hitting the button to "close" the screen. The screen doesn't fit tight to the face of the phone either.

I was a little irratated with the price tag but the BEST BUY assoicate assured me it was well worth it. He was absolutely, 100% correct.... the case needs a little extra attention to charge and to screw in the head phones but 100% no water penetrates.... I have dropped it in the hot tub twice AND drove with it on my roof then at about 50 mph it flew off and I thought it was over... nope a little scratch on the corner of the case. These are the three major instances I have probably straight dropped it in random places 20 times...... I strongly reccomend for any parents or phone abusers such as myself

I got this case , made by otter box ( look at the fine print) to not be so bulky and have the magnetic charger work on through this case. ( got a magnet holder that induction charges the phone. Cant do it with the defender case, other wise I would have.) So this case is a bit thinner and it does slide around as it doesn't have skid resistance on it. However, very slick and durable case. Also seems very water tight. To preserve this they include a 3.5mm jack that screws into the port on their case. ( if ya got blue tooth you'll never use it, but awesome that they though of it)
