I've been using the older model the C920 for a couple years and it has served me well during that time. However, I needed to replace it because it's starting to behave somewhat erratically and the C922 was at the top of my list. The C922 has a 6’ USB cord and comes with a mini 8" tripod (and 3 month Twitch subscription good through the end of 2017). The camera has the same footprint as the previous C920 measuring 4” across, 1.5” high, and 3" long. On the front is the 1080p HD lens and on the sides are the built-in stereo mic. The status LED on the sides are white instead of the blue and cannot be disabled as on the previous model. On the bottom there’s a 1/4” thread mounting hole for standard tripod mounting and the base splits open so that you can place the webcam over the top of a monitor or laptop screen. The microphone was comparable to the C920 built-in mic but was somewhat quieter even though it seemed to filter out more background noise. At 1080p resolution, the max frame rate is 30fps, but at 720p you can go up to 60 fps, which is a new feature for this camera. The auto-focus is speedy and the auto brightness does a nice job keeping the brightness constant if light levels change. The focusing time is slightly quicker than the C920's performance, and there is little to no latency that I noticed in the recordings. The colors appear more saturated and sharper than the C920 which tended to produce video that was washed out and had softer edges in the same recording conditions. I did try to test out the automatic background removal with Personify Chromacam, but unfortunately I never got it to work properly with OBS on my Windows 10 system. It worked once, and during that test I was able to somewhat replace the background in my video with a green screen, but it wasn’t entirely accurate and sometimes it removed my hair or didn't remove part of the chair; if I moved around enough the entire screen would go to green screen. After that one time Chromacam just kept crashing OBS when I opened it. I can’t recommend the camera for that particular feature based on my experience with the camera/software. I'm sure future update will fix this, since I’ve been reading online, for now, the software is just really buggy and unreliable. For me, it's not a big deal since I'm not a gamer and I wasn't really planning on using the feature for anything in particular. Overall, the C922 is a solid webcam and the video performance is slightly better than the C920. If you’re happy with your C920 and don't need a new webcam, I think you can skip this model upgrade. However, if you're definitely looking to get a new camera with clear and crisp video, I’d pick the C922 over the C920.

    Great Camera, Terrible Software Features

Before i begin, let me start out saying i have a B.S. in Television Production and I also am a YouTube Partner so I have gone through many webcams and actual production cameras, so I will write this with all the professionalism i can. First, the C922 is a fantastic piece of HARDWARE. It is a small upgrade from the C920 to give you the ability to broadcast and record at 720p 60fps. Cool! The low light feature as compared to the C920 is nothing to write home about. My main gripe comes with how Logitech was touting the "Background replacement" feature. They really made it seem like it was next generation technology. Well. Its HORRIBLE. As mentioned before I come with years of experience in the TV industry and understand Chroma Keying very well. I also went into this well expecting the software to cut off bits and pieces of me while attempting to analyze the background. I was not expecting it to not detect 1/2 of my entire face. The only time the software worked well is when i was 7 feet away from my camera. Granted my room is cluttered so it is alot to analyze, but i even tried to help it out by throwing up my greenscreen to make it one surface. No Dice. Did not help a bit. Also my room was evenly lit and my face was lit correctly. If you are looking for a solution to eliminate your having to purchase a greenscreen and lighting kit and think this will do the trick. You will be sadly mistaken. Just go with the c920 and buy a chromakey and light kit. I will also be returning this today and returning to using my C920

    Not Perfect

Bought this camera to add to a system I built up on a Late 2014 Mac Mini (2.6 GHz Core i5, 8 GB RAM) for my office. Video quality is excellent with this camera -- much better than the built-in camera in my 2010 iMac. Reports from others say that sound quality is excellent, so the stereo microphone must be good in that respect. I have noticed a few ways in which in this application at least, it is not up to the level of performance of the built-in camera/mic on my iMac though. This mic seems to be more prone to VOX opening from extraneous noise than the built-in on that system. I typically run a small personal fan under my desk and often have to turn it off to eliminate "flup flup" during a call. It is also not unusual that the audio on a call initiated from my Mac Mini will be garbled, and sound like the person I am speaking to is on helium. Parties on the other end report that in that event it sounds like I am on anti-helium (very slow and low (no cultural reference there)). Usually I can disconnect and reinitiate the call to resolve this, but not always. And even if it worked every time, it would be an annoying extra step -- to both parties -- and not very professional. I am willing to concede that these issues may not be inherent to the camera itself, but a result of the specific combination of components in my system, or a driver compatibility issue. Nonetheless, this is my experience with the unit and in these areas it really is not up to my expectations or requirements. Addendum: I will be forced to choose "yes" or "no" on the "I would recommend this to a friend" question, but neither are accurate, so here is what you should pay attention to, not that: Maybe. It would depend on the system he or she intended to install it on, as well as how and where it would be used. Newer system, faster system, etc., probably so, especially if residential. Same system as mine, no, whether home or office. Office application, no, unless installed on a much higher quality system, then Maybe. Residential high performance system, probably. As above, I'm not ready to absolutely condemn the unit, but I would definitely have reservations about recommending it to a friend whose friendship I value. I would convey my experience as clearly as possible and then let him/her decide.

Great webcam but not compatible w/ Logitech SW

I purchased this based on my satisfaction with the Logitech C920, which is a 5-star webcam. Free with the C920 is a simple but powerful webcam recording software package, which I depend on for day-to-day recordings. Imagine my surprise when the C922, with supplied drivers from Logitech, is not compatible with that recording software. In doing this, Logitech broke a fundamental rule of being a hardware/software supplier; you should never produce a successor product that is not compatible with legacy software needs of the installed base. Imagine if an Intel processor could not run Windows! So in doing this, Logitech loses me as a loyal customer of their webcam products. They could fix this by providing an alternate driver compatible with the recording software, or, they could release a version of the basic recording software compatible with ALL of their products including the high-end C922. Regrettably, this has not happened. What were they thinking?

    Good camera, so-so software

This seems to be the same basic camera unit as the Logitech C920 webcam (ie, both are 1080p) but this one comes with a tripod style desk stand, and the background removal software. The software is supposed to make this appeal to twitch streamers and the like, by automatically removing background images from the output, leaving just you, as if you had a green screen behind you. In practice, the software running with OBS used more than 40% of my CPU, compared to 3% with the background removal turned off. Additionally, any large or fast movements left portions of the background visible for a moment, until it caught up. If you are looking to be more serious with streaming, you would be better off buying a green screen backdrop, and using the green screen functions in OBS than this product. Otherwise, it's a good camera, and the included stand is handy.

Didn't work with my MacOS High Sierra installation

    • My Best Buy® Elite MemberElite Member

I was excited to purchase the C922 webcam after reading about it's features, and it was a nice looking unit out of the box. The instructions for Macs were to simply plug in the USB connection, and apps like FaceTime would work with it. Unfortunately, that wasn't what I experienced. After trying different settings in FaceTime to no avail, I researched Logitech's support site. There I saw that other Mac users described running into the same problems, but found no solution offered by Logitech's customer support. Best I could understand, the C922 was intended to be a plug-and-play device for Mac, but isn't compatible with MacOS updates 10.13 and beyond. Sadly, I could find no other solution to make the unit work, so was forced to return it for a refund.

Great quality for streaming in low lighting

I purchased this webcam to replace a Logitech C525 and it has worked well. Basically all around better camera with good built in settings to compensate for low light conditions especially when using a chroma keyed background. I haven't used the advertised chroma key feature, however it does well even if you do not have the best lighting as long as you utilize the features that help with low light. The downside of this is that the camera's frame rate will drop if you have these features enabled. The one nitpick I have with the camera is that I wish it would be able to rotate like the C525, but I already knew going in this wasn't a feature. I have not utilized the built in microphone since I use a separate mic also. Overall I am pleased with the webcam especially considering the price I picked it up for.

Good but not good for PC

    • My Best Buy® Elite Plus MemberElite Plus Member

I was trying to get a camera for my PC and I am normally a fan of Logitech products. When I went to install it I was happy it did not come with a CD to install software or drivers. I thought that I would be directed to a website... but nope I was not. For the life of me, I could not get it to work on my PC (windows 10). I tried to plug it into my MacBook Pro... and it worked like a charm... on my Mac video quality was great and it worked like a charm sadly I did not need this camera for my Mac... so I'll say it simply doesn't get it if you need it for your PC the drivers are not easily found online (and I don't feel as if I should be hunting for them when I buy the product new, EVERYTHING that I need should be included in the box).
