Purchased the Logitech Harmony One Universal Remote for my wife in December of '09. Was very disappointed in the design and software, returned it. Was skeptical in purchasing the Ultimate Home. What a surprise, the display and software is phenomenal. All my equipment was on their web site. You can easily program buttons on the remote. My wife is very pleased with the one button turning on or off. Thinking of getting one for myself.

Major refinements make this a practical remote for daily use. Summary:
Plusses:
1- Feel in your hand is superb, with a grippy back, it does not slip out of your hand
2-Good color screen resolution
3-Programmable hard buttons for most functions
4- Dependable: Once programmed, it works consistently
5-Backlit buttons are very easy to read
6- Haptic Feedback with various levels is extremely user friendly
7- App also allows iPad & iPhone control, but the remove is so comfortable in your hand, I use the remote every time
8- Very intuitive, easy to program
9- Pre-loaded graphics including Network & Home Automation Icons are excellent
10- Home automation control of Honeywell, Hue Lighting & many others is a big plus
Minusses:
1- Screen is not scratch resistant (plastic)
2- If you accidentally bump the screen with your finger, you will activate the function you touched. Screen is very sensitive
Conclusion: Minuses are not sufficient to lose a point.

Purchased the harmony one thinking it worked with your voice, but come to find out I had the wrong one... so I had to go back for an exchange.... and in a way lucky I did... because the harmony home hub comes with the remote and the hub and it was 80 bucks less. So now I got what i wanted and for much less. Now on the product... I absolutely love it.. you can use the remote without even pointing at the system, you can use your phone with the app, n your voice...I use my google assistance on my phone though. I don't own a Alexa.. but maybe soon..if you have a entertainment system this is definitely worth it. I used to own the harmony 650. Which I now use in my bedroom. I really didn't have any issues setting up, little minor setbacks setting up the Xbox to be controlled by the harmony, but I eventually got it.. you do need a little patience depending on the activity you are trying to set up... but once it is set up.. you will love it, and can put away all those other remotes.. btw, I also control my AC with the harmony.

We had an older model Harmony Remote which was great, so it was a "no brainer" to purchase a new one to go alng with our new Sony Smart TV.

My old Harmony remote succumbed to my 1 year old's juice bottle, so I out of need I needed to purchase a new remote. I've been a Harmony remote owner for many years due to the ease of incorporating many home theater components. Most recently the biggest challenge has been trying to consolidate Xbox One functionality with Comcast DVR. Prior to purchasing this remote I was forced to use separate remotes to control either the Xbox or DVR - I always had about 80% functionality overlap between the two ecosystems but never fully 100% - making it annoying when you had to search for the 'other' remote to do something.
I purchased this new unit in hopes of finally using one remote to rule everything. I'm happy to say that I am able to once again control everything with a single remote - although not totally seamlessly. Essentially I had to setup two separate activities on my remote - one for TV and one for Xbox One. This works pretty well to be honest - but took some setup time to figure out all the correct settings so you don't power anything down when switching activities. Now if I want to go search for a movie or run an app on Xbox One I do not need to search for a controller.
In terms of the remote design it's nice but not perfect. They moved the rewind/play/fast forward buttons to the top of the remote which I am not a fan of - especially since the power button is right next to the rewind button, sometimes leading to an errant power down of everything when you were just trying to rewind the DVR a bit. The touch screen could use an improvement in sensitivity since I sometimes press a button on the screen and it doesn't register. There have been a few minor bugs now and then that are slowly being addressed by firmware updates. About 95% of the time the remote works perfectly, but it's that 5% of the time when you are trying to fast forward and then play...and it just keeps going despite you furiously pressing the button. Then it will return back to normal the next time you try. Overall I would recommend this remote - especially to anyone that is frustrated with managing multiple remotes with other components and Xbox One.

I owned a Harmony One remote previous to this one so I had familiarity with the overall configuration of Harmony remotes. If you have never owned one, there is a slight learning curve, but the new remotes have made it much easier to pick up than older models. If you have 3-6 remotes for your home entertainment setup this device is integral for convenient control. It also allows connectivity to your home automation system if you have a need. With the Harmony Hub the remote doesn't connect directly to your devices, but rather through the hub and then to your devices (through Bluetooth & wired IR blasters if you have them hooked up). The benefit to this is you need not point your remote at the device(s) you are controlling, making the experience more convenient. You can also control your Hub (and your devices) with the Harmony app on your tablet or smartphone. This is a very cool feature if you want to control your devices from a distance. Your mobile device can connect to the hub through the internet via the cloud making it possible to check the status of and control everything from anywhere.
If you want a quality device that looks as good at is works, look no further. Don't spend more money on the Elite remote either - it don't do anything more than this model. They just had to charge more for the newest version of the remote. In my opinion it doesn't look as good either and the touchscreen placement isn't as hand friendly.
I have owned Harmony remotes for almost 10 years and wouldn't ever go without one. The Harmony cloud saves all of your remote/device/activity settings so if you ever need to replace or upgrade your hardware your settings are seamlessly transferred to the new gear. Very cool.

I was shopping for a replacement remote for an older Harmony and discovered that Best Buy had a Harmony remote trade-in offer that would give me a $100 credit . That extra money enabled me to consider the Ultimate Home which I purchased. I have not been disappointed. I control a satelite dvr, an audio system, a Nintendo WII, and a blu ray player. All are attached to a Samsung smart tv which would rarely go to the correct input when I used the old Harmony remote ( a 659 model, I think). Now every activity selected with a home screen menu works perfectly with the remote or my Iphone or Ipad. Setup was fairly intuitive and was easier to work with on the Ipad. I haven't been able to get a smaller Dynex tv to work consistently with the remote yet but haven't given up yet. Overall, it has been very satisfying - especially for my wife who wants to watch tv without having to hassle with inputs, audio, etc.

A:AnswerYes. The remote itself doesn't do the controlling really. It's the Hub that sends the signal to the devices so all you need to do is make sure the hub is in the same room as the device you wish to control
A:AnswerYes, this remote has rf capabilities. I have the remote and use it to control all my AV equipment which is located in another room in the house.
A:AnswerMore than likely the answer is yes. I can’t say for certain as I don’t own that equipment however I have been able to program this smart remote to work with my bedroom ceiling fan and even an old Zennith window a/c unit. So chances are that it’ll work just fine for your equipment.
