A young man (Douglas Booth) journeys through France to investigate the death of painter Vincent Van Gogh (Robert Gulaczyk). He encounters a variety of people along the way, including the doctor (Jerome Flynn) who treated Van Gogh in his last days and the doctor's mysterious daughter (Saoirse Ronan). Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman directed this historical drama, which is the first animated feature painted entirely in oil. Eleanor Tomlinson co-stars.~Ben Schultz
This isn't a typical movie in anyway. It is animated with oil paintings in the style of Van Gogh. Just that fact makes is unique and pretty amazing. The story was interesting as well. The characters and scenes from his paintings are brought to life. It follows a young man who was the son of one of Van Gogh's friends trying to deliver a letter from Van Gogh after Van Gogh has already died. He starts off by asking what's the point of delivering a dead mans letter, but slowly learns of what has happened to Van Gogh in his life and how he died, by talking to the people who knew him. I don't know if this is a movie you will watch again and again, but it is well worth watching in my opnion.
Probably the least good of all Van Gogh movies but it Is unique and worth watching for the art alone.
I would recommend this to a friend

Good movie especially for art fans
I saw this movie in the theater when it came out so I decided to buy it for my hard-to-buy-for older sister for Christmas. I'm sure she will love it too. The package also arrived ahead of the predicted delivery date.
