Madworld keeps the beat'em up genre alive

First off, this game is absolutely not for kids. Cursing and extreme violence paint the game from beginning to end.
While the game does suffer from repetitive enemy design (which is a feature of beat'em ups in general), it mixes it up by giving you an environment with a multitude of ways to dispose of your foes, from sticking a signpost through their head, to throwing them into a giant deep-fryer, to shoving a bottle rocket down their throat and watching them fly.
The game is about 6 hours long, depending on how often you die or restart a level it might be more or less.
While the graphical style is distinct, the lack of color aside from the occasional red or yellow can be a downer after a while.

This has to be one of the most violent yet satisfying games I've played yet. I often wonder why the Wii doesn't release more Rated M games. Even though the Wii has more focus on trying to be a "family console" - the Rated M games gives us so-called adults something to strive for. Mad World is so stylish and has a fantastic comic book storytelling technique. It's nothing new but Sega does a good job pitching it in this game. The story is a bit confusing but you'll soon care less when it comes to specific ways you are often asked to kill a foe. Afro Samurai comes to mind when it comes to the absurd ultraviolence that is in this game. It is borderline button mashing and senseless waving of the nunchuck and remote, but so satisfyingly fun. The only DRAWBACK I find in this game is that the intervals between saving games is incredibly long. If you progress through a map and reach the boss of that level and lose------------ you gotta start all over again! You cannot save at checkpoints. The only time you can save is when you finish that portion of the map. Very frustrating at times. Overall, the game is fun, visually refreshing in a stylish manner and well worth the money. It's too bad the Wii doesn't release more quality M rated games such as this one.

Madworld is a great game for those who are tired of playing the same mini-games over and over. The graphics and art style are great given the wii's capabilities. The game is also very bloody but in a humorous way. The game is a beat-em up at heart. It is the way you beat up people that net you more points and the way you do it makes the game very enjoyable. The game also makes good use of the wiimote.
The only problem with the game is that it is very short! You can breeze through the entire game in 3-4 hours. Probably shorter if you skip the cutscenes. This is one of those games where you play over and over to improve your high score. I can only replay a level so many times before I get bored with it and that is what happened with this game. There is a 2 player mode consisting of the various mini games in the single player mode so that will add a little more replay value. Despite the length, I still recommend the game to wii owners out there. It is a great game to pick up and play every now and then to relieve some stress :)

this is an absolutely fun game to own. enemies can be humans, robots, giant behemoths, aliens, and more. and the kills range from cooking a guy in a fish fryer, to throwing him in front of a spiked train, or launching him into outer space. the levels are actually more like arenas than a walk-through stage, where you earn enough points to unlock the boss fight and hence, finish the level. this game practically has it all. the game is entirely in black and white, save for the blood (which is obviously red),but it works perfectly fine and is never a distraction. the camera behind Jack (the main character) can get a little annoying, however; the only option is to center it behind Jack with the Z-button, but this is only a minor nuisance. the game is a bit short (I was able to finish it in 6 hours), but i find myself playing the multiplayer minigames and even through levels over again just to fool around. $50 is a little much for a game this short, but in the end, it's DEFINATELY worth it. thumbs up!!

MadWorld isn't just a brainless beat 'em up, it has an interesting story, along with a unique point system. the more creative your kills, the more points you'll get. When I say creative I mean it. The kills range from catapulting someone to the moon, to shoving a spike up someones butt and having it come out their mouth, or just giving someone a swirly .
This is a must have more all wii owners who are looking for game beyond the generic shovel ware that's been polluting the wii. The game is filled to the brim with blood, profanity, and crude humor.

This is a pretty cool game. The game is done in a Sin City type comic book style. The blood and gore is over the top so It is not as bad as a Grand Theft Auto. There are a number of different finishers. The story is not that detailed. Not for the kids.

This game is brutal and challenging but make no mistakes about it- absolutely fun. There are literally hundreds of ways to take out your enemies. If you want to get high scores, you'll have to use every conceivable kill possible in order to grab the highest score.
The story is pretty good but obviously a rip off of a certain AHNOLD movie... but that's ok. The game is fun enough were not much else matters but the gameplay.
The flow of the game is excellent as well as some of the monotony of the game is broken up with different types of missions, such as motorcycle driving and battling.
Overall this is a game that all mature wii owners should have, immediately. The fun is outstanding and the challenge is high. Are you ready to enter the MADWOLRD?
