Awesome Movie
||Posted .This Movie is so 4K Crisp and Clear and the Dolby Atmos makes Sounds of the Music heading from Above you and Towards you. :)

Better than the first one! (IMO)
||Posted .I was a little skeptical about this movie because the first Mama Mia set a pretty high standard. But, i honestly liked this one even better! They had nearly the entire original cast of the first movie and the new actors did a fantastic job. This story gives you insights into the original story and they do a beautiful job of blending the old with the new. The new actors are playing the old actors at younger ages. They not only do a good job of this, but they actually look much like the old actors, too. The music is fantastic, and of course, if you like ABBA then you can't go wrong here. The big surprise for me was when Cher sang "Fernando." She literally stole the show and did a phenomenal job of both singing and acting. If you enjoyed the original Mama Mia, then this is a "must see" movie. And, I highly recommend that you see it in 4K Ultra HD, if possible. Some of the scenery is breathtaking and 4K makes it the best it can be. Also, this is a musical and the audio of the 4K disc is definitely a cut above the norm.

Reference Quality Picture
||Posted .Mamma Mia Here We Go Again turned out to be a charming and fun Summer movie. In some ways it was better than the the first Mamma Mia movie. It shifts between young Donna Sheridan's history (wonderfully played by Lilly James) and her daughter Sophie's current story. Most of the original cast is back as well as newcomers playing them as young adults. It all works very well. As for the picture quality, the Dolby Vision image is among the best that I've seen since 4K HDR movies began to be released. It's bright, with perfect colors and no overblown bright hightlights. The Atmos audio track is also very good. All in all, this is an excellent "jukebox" musical movie with an outstanding technical presentation. Highly recommended.

Delivers what you were expecting: music, location
||Posted .I suppose our biggest surprise was how fast this movie moved along; it was over before we knew it, and it's just shy of 2 hours. Scoring this is easy: 5 - Delivered on the music 5 - Delivered on spectacular location images 5- The cast fully delivered and the youngsters in flashbacks were entirely credible. 3- The plot . . . wait . . there was a plot? Eh, was anyone expecting a plot? 5- Audio and video technical quality were superb, and are a great demo for premium theater setups. You're gonna like it. It's not even remotely offensive.

Great, but ...
||Posted .I just got a Panasonic DP-U820 player, which handles Dolby Vision -- except on this movie. The colors are faded, the blacks are gray, and it's overall a lackluster showing. Other of my movies in Dolby Vision are spectacular, but I don't know what's wrong with this one. The regular HDR 10 really pops, so I'm giving it 4 stars. I have no idea why DV doesn't work.

How did they do it again?!
||Posted .It's hard to believe that 19 years ago someone had the bright idea to create a musical based on the music of ABBA. But it worked! It's even harder to believe that they could take a pretty good movie adaptation and do a sequel with almost all the same music and make it work again. But they did it. In some ways this is better than the original, but certainly just as good despite the lack of surprises in the plot. The addition of Cher and the mostly absent presence of Meryl Streep works nicely as well. Fans will still be fans.

A fun and touching musical.
||Posted .This movie is a great sequel. There's lots a great visuals of beautiful places and colorful chorus dance production. The ABBA songs are plentiful and make you want to dance. This is both a prequel and a sequel at the same time, showing you what the characters are doing years later than the original and showing you how the original characters came to be. Lilly James is terrific as the young Donna. Don't miss the special features. They sparkle just like the movie itself did.
