Q: Will this work with the Canon 10d?
A: the thread on the place screw is universal, it fits on my canon 630 film, canon 20d and 5d2, and Fuji x100. also weight wise it shouldn't make it top heavy just use the hook under the primary column and hook it to your camera bag. btw I got this tripod into Palace of Versailles where they don't allow tripods since it's so small and it comes with it's own bag. doesn't look like a tripod.
