Little box with big box features!
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. The Marantz NR1711 is my first experience since retiring a 20 yr. old Onkyo. I love it. First my concerns for enough power to fill my 12x17 room were alleviated after setting up the Audessy speaker setup. After a few tweaks to that afterwards, I was blown away by the Dolby effects using our 5.1 speaker setup. The OLED signal passing from our PS5 and streaming is awesome too. Our Sony bluetooth headphones connected easily as well as using the phone app Marantz offers for free. There are no lack of connections as well as network capabilities here. This made my older Infinity speakers sound new again. I wish the remote was back lit though. The larger front panel display is better for us since the on screen display will not show on screen when watching OTA tv signals. Love the small form factor and the eARC works well too. Best Buys Magnolia sales people were excellent to get answers to my questions. We got the Geek Squad extended warranty just in case. Good purchase so far.

Happy owner!
||Posted .Owned for 7 months when reviewed.Used as a main for our living room in a medium-sized room for music and movies. Powers a pair of KEF bookshelf fronts with ease, and delivers a large array of features in a small package. Could not be happier with the "bang for the buck!"

Excellent !
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Excellent quality for a small room at a decent price. (Cautionary note: This unit -which took me nearly 60 years to bite the bullet and purchase- improved the sound to such an extent that I have started upgrading my entire audio system with new speakers, HEOS multi-room streaming and speaker and stereo amplifier for enhanced zone two applications.) Fast and easy set-up or long detailed tweaking; your choice. (Most of us will revert back to the fast and easy since the results are outstanding for each individual's environment.)

Small yet powerful!
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Easy to setup with on-screen guidance. I was concerned that it won’t power my Klipsch speakers but wasn’t I wrong? In fact, I never fully enjoyed the speakers until now. I love that you can control the receiver with phone app and enjoy music with airplay. Can’t go wrong with the quality, the finish and the sleek look that you can be proud to display.

Pure Quality Sound
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.A fantastic Marantz 8k AV to complement a premium OLED Tv and Dolby 5.2.1 speaker sound. Sound configuration is easily switched with speaker presets option (The online version of the manual is a very useful tool) Audyssey setup equipment is a learning experience for you to get the best out of the slim av. A built in Phono pre-amp adds exquisite pure sound to my turntable and display the settings on my tv is the only way to do the best calibration

My Marantz NR1711
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I have always wanted a Marantz receiver since I lived in N.Y.C. in '85. I thought the sound quality from my friends receiver and turntable was amazing and even more so when full digital CD players started selling. Unfortunately I couldn't afford it until till now. ( Yes, nearly 40 years ) But I have been noticing some problems with my unit. 1) The audio changes depending on what I am listening to like switching from my PlayStation to the cable box. 2) I have been experiencing an occasional popping sound while switching. 3) My Roku keeps refreshing and changing the picture resolution while my AppleTV doesn't do that even though I changed to a new certified UHD cable. I love the sound from this receiver. Even my Wife comments she thinks it sounds better that the previous receiver we had to replace. The display is large enough to be seen and you can customize each input label. I wish that the remote had backlighting though for night use. I can use this with my Apple iTunes from my Windows 11 pc which I haven't been able to do from my iMac in years. It also is compatible with our Android and iOS devices for playing videos or music. I have a Polk subwoofer that I can actually hear better now and watching movies with my speakers really gives us that cinema sound. My old receiver was DTS but holy cow what a difference this Marantz makes!

Q: Questionhow many watts per channel?
Asked by CCouture.
- A:Answer The NR1711 outputs 50W per channel at 8 ohms and 70W per channel at 6 ohms.
Answered by Marantz Team
Q: QuestionAre you able to use an external amplifier with this unit to power the main front speakers?
Asked by Miko.
- A:Answer Yep. It has front channels pre-outs. This is the only model in this price range that I found that has them. I use it this very way to integrate my stereo setup into my home cinema by connecting pre-outs to my integrated amp running a the fronts. If you are using an integrated amp (not just power amp) you are best off if your integrated supports AV passthrough.

Q: QuestionI have a Denon 740h. I can play music in my family room or patio via zone 2 or I can play the same music in both rooms. How do I play 2 different music channels in each Room?. Let’s say rock in the family room and holiday music on the patio. Thanks
Asked by Cos.
- A:Answer The Denon AVR-S740H is equipped with Zone 2. With the AVR-S740H, you can connect a 5.1/5.2 surround sound system in your main room and 2 speakers in another room with Zone 2. Zone 2 allows for you to play the same of different music in each room independently. Zone 2 allows for Bluetooth playback or source playback. HEOS is also available with the Denon AVR-S740H. HEOS will provide the most flexibility with Zone 2. Control Zone 2 via your smart phone including volume. Please feel free to contact Denon customer support for further assistance.

Q: QuestionCan the Alexa function be turned off for those who do not want this feature?
Asked by Alexa.
- A:Answer Yes, simply don't enable the HEOS Skill in the Alexa App. At that point, the Alexa and AVR won't communicate with each other over the network.

Q: QuestionI have active speakers, specifically Adam Audio T7Vs and a T10s subwoofer. Can I use them with this receiver by using the pre-outs on the back? And does that require a special setting to just plug and play?
Asked by RichardDiver.
- A:Answer Hello, the Marantz NR1711 receiver will work with active speakers connected to the pre-out section for front LT, RT, and LFE channels. A basic setup is required to maximize sound output, as with any receiver.
Answered by Marantz Team
Q: QuestionIs the remote RF? I would be putting the unit on the other side of the wall from my tv.
Asked by JB.
- A:Answer Hello, the remote is IR only and requires a direct line of sight. However, the HDMI control feature will provide basic operation, power, and volume for example. The app may be used as well.

Q: QuestionIs it possible to connect to a reel to reel tape deck for playback/record?
Asked by crzyhors.
- A:Answer Hello and thank you for your question. Connecting a Reel to Reel is possible. However, it does not have recorder out. You could possibly connect a recording device via Zone 2 and setting volume to fixed out in the settings. For true recorder in/out, please consider one of our integrated amplifiers. Try the Marantz PM7000N.
