Make sound come alive with this MartinLogan Motion 5.1 home theater system. The four Motion 2i speakers, Motion 6i bar speaker and Dynamo 400 subwoofer provide crisp treble and thumping bass. This MartinLogan Motion 5.1 home theater system includes wall mount brackets for the 2i and 6i speakers, making it ideal for setting up surround sound in a family room.
A: I went with Marantz for its reputation for music vs Denon more known for movies. My receiver is more than I need, but I hope to maybe grow the system eventually, maybe with a couple towers. I got a Marantz SR6013 9.2CH 4K Ultra HD AV Receiver with HEOS. If you can, I'd recommend going in the Magnolia room (pandemic permitting) to actually listen to the combination of speakers and receivers to see what you really like; the Magnolia/Best Buy employees were very helpful and let me try all kinds of combinations of speakers and receivers. If money wasn't an object, I would have gone with the Bowers and Wilkins top end speaker (OMG) with the top end Marantz receiver. Coming back to the receiver, this Marantz with the Martin Logan set in question still has capacity for a second zone (since not using the 9.2 capability), so I was able to use my previous speakers for a zone 2 in my kitchen when I want a balanced sound level throughout both rooms (it can also connect a second monitor for that zone 2).
Q: Can you use included wall mounts to install on ceiling?
A: You cannot use the included wall mounts to install on the ceiling. I had to purchase my mounts from Amazon. I bought these and they were great on my ceiling. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C9UJWSK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Q: Is the wall bracket included with these speakers?
A: Yes, the wall mounting brackets are included in the box for these speakers!
A: Unfortunately, this particularly speaker is not wireless. It will require speaker wire to be ran to the location you'd like to have this in to provide power and signal.
Q: Would I be able to use this as a starting system to possible upgrade speakers later? (ie. 7.2, 9.2)
A: Yes, absolutely! This would be a great way to kick start your home theater system. In the future, if you'd like to add another pair of Motion 2i's you can do just that. Or maybe get a pair of Motion 4i's to use as your front speakers, then use the previous Motion 2i's as additional surround channels. You can customize your home theater system as you see fit, and this system will help build a great foundation for you!
