Maytag - 24" Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher - Bisque

We had this dishwasher for two years, and it started off working nicely, although with a family of six, we had a hard time fitting a whole day's worth of dishes in it at one time. Some of the glasses on the top rack didn't get completely clean all the time, but it did a good job with the other dishes. After about a year, we noticed that the soap dispenser door sometimes would not pop open during the cycle, so the dishes were just "rinsed." Then, one fateful day, without any warning at all, it just died on us. It worked just fine the day before, and then the next day the digital display started blinking. We tried pushing different buttons to get it to do something, but absolultely nothing happened! Over the next few months, the digital display would blink "2H" for a while and then go blank for a couple days (this repeated over and over). We finally had a guy come out, and he said it was a digital/electronic malfunction of some sort and to get it all fixed would cost more than what we paid for the dishwasher to begin with. So now, after three months of no dishwasher, we're going to buy a new one....but NOT a Maytag!

I've owned GE Profile, Bosch, and others over the years. I can't seem to get much more than a year or two out of these machines so instead of going high end I am going middle of the road with this Maytag. They have made great clothes washers over the years and were recently taken over by Whirlpool. GE will be going away as well in the near future. While Bosch got the top Consumer Report rating my last Bosch ($800) machine only lasted one year. The high end machines may appeal with their LED displays but these systems can be very expensive to repair if the parts are even available.

After 25 years (yes 25!) i replaced the original Maytag d/washer in my house with this one and the original was still running strong! It simply didnt fit in with my kitchen design so i did not even consider anything else but Maytag....And this new one performs flawlessly, quiet and the dishes are super clean coming out!

good dishwasher, no problems with it. Easy to set up.
