A: Yes they can be on either side
Q: Will it work on a tub with sliding glass doors?
A: Hi Dean, The first thing to consider is whether or not the bench itself can clear the height of the wall of your tub. This bench can clear from 16.25" to 20.65" depending on how high you adjust the seat height. Assuming the bench will clear the height of the wall of your tub, you'd also have to consider the fact that you won't be able to close the sliding door because the transfer bench will be in the way of the track of the door. I hope this helps. Thanks - Medline DME product support
Q: What is the width sticking out from tub
A: I don't have a tub. We use this item in shower.
Q: Which side goes inside the tub?
A: Two of the feet have suction cups on the ends. These would be the feet that rest inside of the tub. The back and hand rail are able to be installed on either side of the seat, so this can be assembled for left or right-side entry to the tub.
