Great sound for the price!

I just cannot say enough good things about this Memorex iPod sound system, which I bought a couple months ago. First of all, bear in mind that the cost is only $20 or so. For the price, the sound is terrific. To me, that is the most important thing. Even at high volume, this little box sounds great. It’s also intuitive and easy to use, and comes with a nifty little remote that is also easy to use. I also like the clock feature and the small size. Looks good too. I bought this item to replace a much more expensive system from i-Love that broke after only a few months. The sound in the Memorex system is much, much better, and frankly, it looks better too. The only drawback is no radio. I’m really surprised that the other reviews are not more positive. No, this is not a $500 Bose sound system -- it’s a $20 Memorex iPod system. But it blows away considerably more expensive systems and, for the money, you can’t go wrong.

I love this dock! It's easy to use and the remote has a long range. The sound quality is good, not great - but it's all I need. I'm not a speaker snob so I love it. Great buy, low profile & easy to use. What's not to love?

i had a problem getting the product to turn on. After waiting about an hour or so went back and it came on. I haven't had that problem since. Dock is great and gets loud enough for me, I think it would have been cool to be able to control the bass. The remote is great and controls your iPod with ease and work from a nice distance.

I read all the reviews before I decided to order this product. I figured for the price that it would be worth the money just to have a good dock for my IPod Classic. I definitely got my money's worth. The unit was in good shape; just a scratch on the bottom. No problems with the sound quality; It sounds great and works well.

What Can You Expect

I purchased the unit for listening to my ipod at my desk at work, decided on a refurbished model, strictly off price alone. I figured no sense on buying a Bose system for work, it would wind up broken or stolen. Sound quality is fair, it does everything I need for work. The only qualm I have, is it occasionally stops playing, for no apparent reason. I simply use the wireless remote,, hit play and it starts again...not sure if it's interference due to the wireless portion or what, but it does get annoying at times..

Great Ipod dock for the price.... for $20 its great, good sound quality, remotes a helpful tool and if there was anything to say that makes it difficult to use was the clock display.... but its not the primary use.

I was surprised when I found this while browsing for a set of speakers. It had to be too good to be true. And unfortunately for me, it was.
There's a few compliments though: For one, I ordered this on Wednesday evening and it arrived Friday morning (I selected the lowest shipping cost). I don't know if this is average when buying items online from the site, but I found it quite nice (and certainly saved me $30 from having it shipped even earlier, which clearly wasn't necessary...haha). The system itself, at the very least, plays your music and charges your iPod whether you're playing music or not, but that's where the good news stops. The clock is puzzling - after I initially plugged it in and set up the clock after consulting the manual, I expected it to be set to that time (I made sure it was set too, according to the manual). After plugging it out then back in shortly later, I noticed the clock had reset itself for some reason. Even weirder is that it has you set the month, date, and AM or PM, yet only displays the time (minus AM/PM). I pressed mode on the system a few times to see if it changed anything, but to no avail. The remote is a nice tool, though it's a bit of a struggle to turn the volume up or down, or to pause the music. The album/playlist controls on the remote are also nice (yet I haven't fully figured out how they work and unfortunately there's little to no mention in the manual). The sound quality itself was partially static. Maybe my iPod Touch isn't the right model that's compatible with the system...I don't know. My mom has an iPhone 3GS, and as far as I could tell when I used it, the static issue was nonexistent (yet there's no mention of iPhone compatibility on the product information page on here...unless I haven't looked closely enough). I decided not too long ago that the static is too bothersome to ignore and am going to a store within a few days to get a refund. At the very least, any product should start off great and then decline in quality as it's used - not the other way around.
Overall, I suppose it depends on your MP3 player and what you're looking to get out of your speaker system. Again, at the very least, it plays your music (with a possible static sound in the background)...and I believe there is an option for you to hook up a different MP3 player using an auxiliary cable that plugs into the back (something I found funny is that there's a slot for headphones to be plugged into the speakers...I personally would just plug it into the music player itself...it just struck me as odd, not necessarily an annoyance), so that's an added bonus, but unfortunately it's not my cup of tea. I'm sure whoever refurbished it spent quite a while working on it...I just wish the quality was better.
