Q: If I plug in the usb cable will this keyboard function without bluetooth
A: Yes. I do not use this keyboard with Bluetooth at all.
Q: Do the keys on this keyboard match the feel or come close to the keys on a Surfacebook?
A: Very close to the keys on the surface. It almost identical.
Q: Can this keyboard be used with hp laptop?
A: Yes. It’s part of the “Surface” line because of its styling and keyboard feel, but it’s otherwise an ordinary keyboard from the perspective of computers (minus the Windows Hello fingerprint key, which is a feature only used by Windows 10).
A: My experience with BT connection has been very poor with this version. I've never tried the original. It stays connected just fine, but the battery runs out without warning. Sometimes it is difficult to get it to connect, thanks to a total lack of a 'pairing' mode.
