Best Buy on eBay will gladly refund payment for any new, clearance, open-box, refurbished and pre-owned product returned within these stated terms.

How do I return an item?
The original receipt or packing slip (if you received one) is required for all returns. Items purchased from Best Buy on eBay are eligible for returns by bringing the product into a Best Buy store located within the United States or by mail.

What is the standard return period?
Most purchases have a 14-day return policy. Items that are a part of the eBay Refurbished program may be returned within 30 days of the date of delivery for a refund. Simply bring your item(s) to us with all contents, packaging, and proof of purchase, and we will process your return.   

Is there an extended Holiday Return period? 
Yes. Purchases made from the Best Buy store on eBay before Oct. 31, 2025, can be returned within 30 days of the date of delivery for a refund. Simply bring your item(s) to us with all contents, packaging and proof of purchase, and we will process your return. Purchases from the Best Buy store on eBay made Oct. 31 through Dec. 17 have an extended return period through Jan. 15, 2026, excluding items purchased with a third-party contract (e.g., activatable devices), major appliances and holiday products (e.g., artificial trees, lights, decorations, etc.). Purchases made after Dec. 17 can be returned within 30 days of the date of delivery for a refund. Other exclusions and all other terms and conditions of the Best Buy Return & Exchange Promise apply.   

Do cell phones, cellular tablets, mobile hotspots and cellular wearables have a different return window?
You can return these devices within 14 days for a full refund.

Do cell phones (excluding prepaid phones), cellular tablets, mobile hotspots and cellular wearables have a restocking fee?
Yes. There is a $45 restocking fee on cell phones (excluding prepaid phones), cellular tablets, mobile hotspots and cellular wearables.

Do any other items sold by Best Buy have a restocking fee?
Yes. Drones, digital cameras, camera lenses, camcorders (including action cameras), electric bikes, electric mopeds, golf launch monitors, premium scooters, super scooters, mobility scooters, electric wheelchairs, leg and body recovery systems, projectors, projector screens, premium cold tubs, premium saunas and special-order products have a restocking fee of 15% of item purchase price. There is no restocking fee if the product is unopened or if the purchase occurs in: AL, CO, HI, IA, MS, OH, OK, SC and where prohibited by law. The restocking fee will be taxed in select states.

What do I need to do when I return a connected or Wi-Fi device?
Please make sure that all data has been removed and the device is no longer linked to any cloud account or to any other device so that we may accept the return of this product. If you decide to return a phone or device with a plan, you are responsible for cancelling your service contract with the carrier, and for all carrier charges.

There are two ways to return your phone or device and cancel your service:

  • Return your device to a Best Buy store. Be sure to tell the Blue Shirt that you want to cancel your service. Carrier service cancellation policies may vary.
  • Call Best Buy Mobile at 1-877-702-2211 (6 a.m. to midnight, CT) for instructions on how to return the device by mail.

What do I need to know about issues with major appliances?
Once delivery is accepted by a customer, if defects and/or damage is identified please contact Best Buy immediately. Contact Best Buy by calling 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289).

Are there limits on returning holiday products?
Yes. Products in Halloween decorations and Christmas decorations categories can be returned within 14 days for all customers.

Are there limits for entertainment products?
Yes. Opened physical copies of computer software, movies, music, video games, books, video game guides and sheet music can only be exchanged for an identical item.

Are there limits on returning services, subscriptions and Microsoft 365 and Office?
Yes. Return and refund details on services and subscriptions, including antivirus software and Microsoft 365, are found in their terms and conditions, available at BestBuy.com/PlanTerms. Microsoft Office can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. If you have purchased a service that you have not used, but you now wish to return and you are unable to return in a store, please contact us at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289).

Are there any items that are not returnable?
Yes. The following items are nonreturnable once purchased: Custom orders, personalized orders, Items marked as Final Sale; non-subscription digital content (including digital gaming but excluding Microsoft Office), codes or prepaid cards (including third-party gift cards and prepaid phone cards), vehicle replacement key fobs, memberships, trading cards (including Pokémon cards), products with 300 or greater watt hour capacity, and plumbing items. 

The following items are nonreturnable once opened: Products that interact with bodily fluids, SIM kits, LEGO products, completed services, delivered home standby generators, delivered whole home backup, and consumable items (including batteries, cleaning agents, oils, fuel, filters, cleaners, health supplements, health test kits, ink and 3D printer filament).

What if I’m returning an item that included a free gift or my item was part of a bundle or package?
If you received a discount or free item by purchasing multiple items together, you will lose that benefit if you do not return all items purchased.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged, or if the wrong item was shipped?
If you receive a product that is damaged, defective or not the product you ordered, please return it to a Best Buy store and we’ll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289). We will cover all reasonable and customary ground shipping fees.

Do products need to be returned in a like-new condition?
Yes. Items need to be returned in a like-new condition. Items that are damaged, unsanitary, dented, scratched or missing major contents may be denied a return. Apparel must not be worn or laundered, and its original tags must be attached for us to accept a return.

Returns in store.

To return your item to a local Best Buy store, follow these instructions:

  • Please return items with all accessories and packaging. If you do not, we may either deny the return, or allow a return with a nonrefundable deduction on your refund for what is missing.
  • Bring your receipt or packing slip (if you received one).

When returns may be denied:

  • Please note that in certain instances returns processed in a Best Buy store may not reflect the total sales tax collected on your original purchase transaction. In these cases, eBay will refund any additional taxes paid to your original form of tender within 72 hours. 
  • Reimbursements on returns lacking proof of purchase may require an email address, may be denied or limited, and state sales tax and fees will not be reimbursed.

Returns by mail.

To return the item via mail, follow these instructions:

  • Pack your return in the original shipping package, if possible.
  • Include your receipt or packing slip (if you received one) and return label, and indicate the reason for the return.
  • Include all original packing materials, manuals and accessories. (If you don’t have all the original packaging and accessories, that’s okay, too. We can process a return with a small deduction on your refund for what’s missing.)
  • For safety reasons, Hazardous materials (e.g., flammable liquids, flammable gases, items with lithium batteries, products with 300 or greater watt hour capacity) can’t be mailed back to Best Buy, even if the item has been cleaned of these materials. Items that include a rechargeable battery must include the original battery to qualify for a return.
  • Best Buy may require that you return your Heavy items directly to the manufacturer (e.g., Burrow, Lovesac, Plunge, Sun Home).
  • Major appliances, TVs over 50 inches, kegerators, and Soda Stream makers cannot be returned via shipping. Limitations also apply on shipping back lithium and specialty batteries and products containing these batteries.

Does Best Buy price match purchases from the Best Buy store on eBay?
No. The Best Buy store on eBay does not match prices listed at Best Buy or the prices of our competitors. Similarly, Best Buy does not match prices listed on the Best Buy store on eBay. We also do not match the current prices of an item after your purchase if the price changes during the returns and exchanges period.

Do Best Buy on eBay products include a warranty?
Most products come with a manufacturer’s warranty that varies by product.

Can I earn My Best Buy® points and redeem My Best Buy certificates here?
No. Best Buy on eBay is not affiliated with My Best Buy, so My Best Buy points cannot be redeemed or earned here.

Delivery options.

Can I pick up my order at a Best Buy store?
No. At this time, we do not offer Store Pickup for orders through our eBay store.

I haven’t received a shipping confirmation email yet. When should I expect it?
You should receive a shipping confirmation email within 72 hours of ordering. If it has been more than 72 hours since you placed your order, call us at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289).

How do I track the status of my order?
When your order ships, we will send you an email confirmation with a tracking number and link so that you can track your shipment.

Can I change my shipping options?
No. Once an order is submitted, we are not able to change the shipping option.
