Too many menus and too much waiting

I got this game for xmas, and at first I thought it was pretty terrible, however it's growing on me. I've read the other reviews, and I agree that the sensor is not as accurate as it is on Kinect Adventures or Kinect Sports, but I've only noticed it really with football and boxing. Sometimes it misses punches on boxing, and on football I have to practically sit on the ground to make the guy duck.
For the gameplay, there are six sports, I've played each a bit. I think football and soccer are the most fun. Soccer lends itself nicely to the Kinect, with the kicking challenges and such. Football is okay too, although the challenges should be longer and more involved. For instance, the running back challenge has you evading tackles, while the game runs for you automatically. Personally, I'd rather do the running, it should be optional. Plus, right as the tackler gets to you, the game pauses for a second, probably to give you a moment to decide your move. This is annoying, it makes it way too easy to evade the tackler, this pause shouldn't be there. For the other sports, the horseback riding is okay, although I got the hang of it pretty quickly. The skiing is the toughest by far I think, it's very sensitive to your movements, I have a tough time staying on the course. I'm not a skier though, maybe that's realistic. The boxing is okay, but it does miss some of your punches, and it doesn't appear that there is a real strategy to it. The hang gliding is pretty boring I think, you barely do anything at all really.
My main problem with the game is the ridiculous number of menus you have to navigate through just to play the game. Like the guy said in an earlier review, you spend most of your time in the menus, rather than the game itself. Plus, after every single challenge the game takes a picture of you. This is fun at first, but gets annoying after the tenth time, it's just another pointless menu that comes up. There is another menu that comes up after each challenge that tracks your "fame" from local, to national, to international. I don't care about fine, I just want to play the game. Another example is if you step away for a second, the game makes you resign in each time so that it can track your progress about previous results. Again, I don't care, just want to play the game. Too many menus, not enough game. Plus, the time to load the activity is way too long. The graphics are nothing special, and it's not like it's loading a massive world here.
Lastly, this game is not a demo, it's paid for. All the activities should be unlocked from the beginning, rather than just one activity for each sport. You're just encouraging people to return the game.
If you're thinking of buying a sports game, I wouldn't get this one. Either get Kinect Sports, or wait for a better option as the technology and games mature.

Not worth it. Boring, weak graphics

Well I'm a big xbox gamer and I really like Kinect. This game is not worth it. It wasn't fun at all. Game was pretty boring. This game doesn't sense your moves as good as the others. Ex. in football when you do your move the character wouldn't do it. I would literally have to jump high for the character to jump and squat to the floor so he can duck. Game does a lot of loading before you can start. You will think the game froze up on you. Graphics are a bit weak. You will soon find this game in the $9.99 section. I returned it after a day of playing. Invest in other games before this one honestly.

Give it a chance

We got this game for Chirstmas. I was a little worried because of previous reviews, but you MUST give it a chance. The football is a little off and hard to play, but everything else is great fun. I am a horse lover and love the horseback riding. My family thinks the skiing is the best game. We played this game the most and have woken up sore the next morning form playing so much. This is a great family game. There a lot of menus, but give it a chance!!

Motion Sports are very interesting and adventures. Especially the snow skeing and Hang Gliding. My 4 and half year son loves Horse riding and racing. Most of all 2 players can play at the same time to compete with each other. Soccer and football are also exciting. I bought this for some physical exercise for kids at home instead of watching or playing some handheld video games. This really sucks your energy and keeps you active. My 2 sons and my self love this. Haven't opened Dance Central yet but will post it's review when I play that one. i bought it on deal buy 1 get any other free and got Dance Central along with it. Worth for the price.

There are better games than this one.

I have had this game for almost a month, and have only played it once. It takes forever to load, it's boring, and for some reason the sensor does not work correctly with this game. The graphics are not impressive at all. I am planning on exchanging this game ASAP.

Fun game with software issues

This is by far the worst Kinect game we bought. The sensor does not work well with the software on the disc. Hard to pick you up and keep you like the other games do. Other than that though, its fun when it isn't messing up, and it has lots of different games to play.

Poor graphics and kinect sensors.

I strongly dissuade anyone from buying this. It is a complete waste of $50.00. The graphics are awful. The Kinect sensor does not respond properly in some of the games (e.g. I could not get the football player to duck).

Starting with the menu you may select either one of the sports by easily placing your hand over the icon for the sport. For instance I selected to play football. There was a list of about 7 or 8 different activities listed under football. Only one activity was playable until you played that activity then you can unlock the next football activity. A little frustrating that you have to unlock activities rather than just play any football activity that you want. Kind of takes the fun out of it.
Okay so you play the activity and you don't score enough to unlock the next activity. So you look at your score and then you’re able to select play again or back to menu. So you select play again. Then it loads. Then you have to select one player, and then it loads. Now you can play. After almost 2 minutes of play load time.
Okay so now after your second attempt the game tells you that you have unlocked the second football activity. So the score screen comes back up again and you hit continue. It tells you that you have unlocked the next activity and now you have the option to play again or select back to menu. If you want to play the next activity you have to select back to menu. You are then brought back to the main menu, then you have to select football again, then you can select the new unlocked activity. With load times this could take up to two minutes. Ridiculous!!! Especially when none of the activities take longer than 2 minutes to play.
Let’s talk about game play. You play your first football activity. Your character runs straight and you have to jump over and duck under obstacles. When you jump once the character jumps twice. Most times when you duck the character doesn’t duck which causes you to run into the object and then you have to start the activity over again. And the times that your character does duck when you stand back up your character jumps. The activity takes all of 45 seconds. And most of the activities are like this, short with long load times and inaccurate motion detection. In boxing it doesn’t read all of your punches and when you kick the ball in football or soccer it tells you to take a step back. Taking a step back may be a problem. Microsoft says that you need 6 to 8 feet of space to play the kinect games. Well when you are standing 8 feet away it tells you to step back to kick the ball which puts you 10 feet away. So if you don’t have 10 feet then you can’t play soccer and you can’t kick the football.
I tried this game on two different kinects with two different xbox 360 consoles in two different houses with 3 different people giving it a tryout. And the outcome was the same every time. This game totally missed the mark.
