    Mr. Brooks
A hardened detective enters into a tenuous symbiotic relationship with the vicious serial killer she is tracking after earning the respect of the murderous madman in this vicious psychological thriller starring Demi Moore, Kevin Costner, and William Hurt. Earl Brooks (Costner) is a successful businessman, noted philanthropist, and loving father. He's the kind of man whom no one would ever suspect of being a notorious serial killer, but then again history's most dubious psychopaths are often the quiet neighbor whom no one would ever suspect was capable of committing such unspeakable atrocities. Until now, no one has had any reason to link Earl Brooks with the heinous crimes of the dreaded Thumbprint Killer. Even his beautiful wife (Marg Helgenbeger) and teenage daughter (Danielle Panabaker) could never conceive of such an awful truth. But when Mr. Brooks's dark side begins to outshine his sane exterior, an amateur photographer (Dane Cook) captures the killer succumbing to his murderous instinct on film. Now, as Mr. Brooks is pursued by tenacious detective Tracy Atwood (Moore) and forced to bend to the will of an opportunistic bystander, the killer who was once able to keep his murderous alter ego (Hurt) in check finds his control steadily slipping. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

      The Killers Perspective

Mr. Brooks is a unique movie. When I say unique, I mean just that. You get to experience a movie thru the eyes of a serial killer. How does a serial killer think? How does a serial killer function? How does a serial killer cope with day to day activities? What really goes on in a serial killers mind? If you're a big fan of Kevin Costners(like myself), you'll surely enjoy this one of a kind movie. The story has three storylines that basically blend together. The first is about Mr. Brooks(Kevin Costner), the second is about an F.B.I. agent(Demi Moore) that's trying to track down Mr. Brooks, and the third is about a engineer(Dane Cook) that comes across Mr. Brooks path. I won't give anything else away about the storyline. Once you get to the end of this movie, you're probably gonna be attached to Mr. Brooks character. You'll probably even be rooting for him. If you do, you'll probably ask yourself the same question I asked myself. Should I be rooting this much for the villain? This is a great movie, go check it out.

      good psycho movie

the story to mr brooks is very basic and simple. he used to kill people then he stopped for a while and after a while, his concince comes back cuz he obviously likes killing. there are two big highlights of the movie. kevin costner absolutely aces the part. dane cook does a surpringly great jod. everyone else just gets the job done, no bigees. so as all the main characters are all over the place, costner is being bugged by dane cooks character whos the most insane thing in the whole movie. so costner is on and off trying to be good but somethings holding him from the good inside him if there is any at all. overall, everything strangley works its way through to the partialy surprise ending.

This film is extraordinary. Kevin Costner at his best. It's so amazing that he can play 2 roles in one movie and play them so well that you forget it's the same actor. This movie has great plot twists and plenty of suspense. It leaves you guessing all the way until the end credits. I've watched this film more than 50 times and I never get tired of it. It gives me goosebumps every time I watch it because of how great it's put together. This is a must see if you're into the darker side of Kevin Costner's acting and if you love suspense! A must have.

      Nothing special here

I didn't really have high hopes for "Mr. Brooks" going into it. Kevin Costner is way past his prime and I can't remember anything he's done that's been worth my time since the 90's (or was it the 80's?). Dane Cook? I think I'll pass next time. And as for Demi Moore, well, she is absolutely pathetic in this one (what's new). Mr. Brooks starts off promising, but quickly things turn for the worst; the invisible friend was a bit of a stretch, as was the story itself. Not the worst movie ever, but I fell like I wasted my time.

      A gem of evil

This is the most underrated Costner movie. His performance is chilling and convinces you of his very disturbed mental state. William Hurt also shines in a bizarre role and Danielle Panabaker shows she can bring it as well. The movie does slow down whenever these 3 are off screen and there is a silly subplot about Demi Moore's character getting a messy divorce but it does finally pay off in a big way. Get this and watch it.

      Great psychological thriller!

This was a great movie, my wife and I loved it! This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat till the very end. I always thought Kevin Costner made a good bad guy, and he should do it more often. Also, Demi Moore, William Hurt, and Dane Cooke were all great in this movie. I highly recommend it! Plus, some other good Kevin Costner 'bad guy' films are 3000 Miles to Graceland and A Perfect World.

      The years best movie

This movie was easily one of the best of the year and how it made it without winning an award is beyond me. Along with Open Range, this is one of the few movies that Costner has done in recent memory that is actually a rather good movie. My only problem with this Blu-ray is it's lack of special features. It contains a subtitle trivia track and that is it. However, the movie is good enough to warrant a purchase.

      Good film

I really enjoyed this film; Keven Costner does an excellent job as Mr. Brooks and several of the murder scenes are particularly riveting. If you are adverse to gore, I wouldn't watch this one. Finally, the ending is a bit disappointing. I think they should have removed the final scene and ended the movie at the second to last scene (you'll see what i mean if u watch it!).
