Gaming computer
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The gaming part of the computer is great. My problem is the hinges pop off and pulls/warped the bottom front of the computer. I’ve bought this computer twice now and both times this has happened. We’ve had it for little over a month

Small beast.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With the proper cooler this thing rips! It's on par with my 1080TI + I7 9700K system, just louder. Especially on sale this has to be one of the best bang for the buck laptops out there. Wish the motherboard wasn't inverted. Most MSI laptops are easy to work on and upgrade but not this one. So you lose a star due to the extra risk of upgrading the hard drives.

Great laptop for gaming, nothing to complain about
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop is very powerful for the price. It is a thin and light gaming laptop that can be carried anywhere. The battery life is actually impressive for the performance; on battery life mode, it can last up to 10-12 hours running continuously. The thermals of this laptop are the best I've seen in a gaming laptop (I always had Intel gaming laptops before), and the fan noise isn't loud unless you set it to the extreme mode. The screen is good but has average brightness. The speakers' quality is also good but average. Overall, it is a very good laptop for the price. I've seen reviews about a broken hinge, but it is not true. My friend had it for over one year and recommended me this laptop because of the quality (I had an Alienware M15 R4 before). In conclusion, the hinge will not break if they are treated normally. Of course, if you try to break them, they will break like every other laptop in the market.

Solid portable gaming solution!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to upgrade my ROG Zephyrus which had a 6 core Core i7 and an RTX 2060. I expected a small performance boost but was pleasantly surprised to see that it was MUCH more. The only issue, which really doesn’t bother me because I use an external keyboard and mouse, is that the area above the keyboard gets HOT while gaming. And it heats up quickly - 7-10 minutes. I measured it with an IR thermometer At 129 degrees. Having said that - the CPU and GPU don’t throttle themselves at that temp so it’s not a big deal. Computer runs anything I throw at it at near max settings!

Some setup hiccups but a great performer.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The downsides first: it took some real work to get all the drivers to update properly. I believe I restarted this thing at least a dozen times yesterday. It took going into device manager several times and disabling and enabling the iGPU and the 6700m, as well as the Bluetooth adapter to get everything to work properly. My Bluetooth mouse and Xbox controller weren’t working without doing this to the Bluetooth adapter. I could not control screen brightness or change any settings like turn on the blue light filter without doing this to the GPUs. I am deciding between keeping my Legion 5 I recently purchased with the 6600m or replacing it with this so I ran benchmarks. To my disappointment, TimeSpy, Fire Strike, and PCMark all had lower scores than my lower spec legion. Turns out the drivers were all jacked up and it didn’t take care of this automatically as I ran updates. From customer photos I see above, many people are posting benchmarks that are much lower than my final results after getting everything up to date. Oddly though, the PCMark bench is still a bit lower than my legion even though the others are the same. Perhaps this memory or drives are slower. (after looking more closely at my results, the “physics” score is more than 10% lower. This is clearly due to CPU throttling on this MSI. The legion with its larger chassis is apparently able to keep the CPU cooler and at maximum power for the whole 25 minute bench. Keep in mind that this is quite the COU and even throttled performance is not a bottleneck for todays most demanding games or most workloads, but still worth noting.) Please see my photos for benchmarks that seem to be better than the others posted. The trackpad is indeed loose like a YouTube review said. If you tap along the front of it even relatively lightly, it sounds like you’re clicking it. Many times if you drag your finger across it, it reverberates and sounds a bit cheap to me. The good: once everything was up to date, performance is great. The lowest fan mode you choose in the MSI Center software is nearly silent. When I’m not gaming, it really drives me nuts when my laptop sounds like it’s going to take off when I’m browsing or watching a YouTube video. The highest fan settings seem no louder to me than “normal” with many gaming laptops I’ve owned or tried. The screen quality seems quite good, I’m not a creator so the exact color accuracy and all are not key features for me. That being said, it looks better than my legion screen and the brightness is roughly on par with it, plenty bright for indoor use. Beyond the trackpad, build quality is excellent. I love the premium feel of the metal chassis. No creaks, significant flex, or hinge issues on mine. Reviews have stated the screen is a little wobbly but this is not my experience. It’s slightly looser than my legion but not to a meaningful extent. BATTERY LIFE IS INSANELY GOOD. Way better than my legion and according to a very good YouTuber, among the best he’s ever tested. It shows. Can’t think of anything else at the moment. If I didn’t mention something it’s probably because it’s average or otherwise unremarkable but just fine. Please ask questions if you’d like to before you purchase.
