My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter for Keurig Brewers

I guess Keurig didn't want to make the re-usable filter better tasting than the K-Cups or you'd stop buying the K-Cups. Pulling the rubber washer down to the tip of the metal point that pierces the K-Cup fixes the water overflowing. However, the water still flows too quickly and brews a weak cup of coffee. To fix this, I took a USED K-Cup with the hole in the bottom, removed the foil from the top, removed all the plastic liner inside the K-cup, then placed the "hollowed" K-Cup into the filter housing. You may need to turn the housing upside-down on the counter and press firmly to get it to go in far enough. Then put the removable filter basket in and put the lid on. This slows the water flow to make the coffee stronger. Very happy with product now.

I have used this and found to be a very useful addition to Keruig K-cup coffee machine. It is used with ground coffee and thus can be used instead of the K-cups. Therefore you can use any ground coffee and thus save money and allow a degree of flexibility to the machine.

I bought this product so I could use my own coffee. But you have to take out the plastic housing in the machine , then put in the cup. You have to put it in just right. The only thing I don't like is cleaning it after use. You have to shake the coffee grounds out and clean it out before the next cup. It can be a little messy. I bought 6 extra cups (another brand) and just make them ahead of time. You can buy paper filters too. It helps with the mess. But I just use the K cups alone now. If there are several coffee drinkers in your house, you would have to buy several of these . Too expensive for that.

This item is a great investment. 1 Use K-cup pods cost over $1 each even when bought in bulk. Using this reusable filter, just by any coffee you want, put a spoonful in, and brew your cup of joe. Easy to use and clean and will definitely save you money in the long run.

Kcups get pricy after a while and this is a great alternate solution. I think I over pack it so it makes a small mess but it is worth it. Saves money and you get to buy your favorite coffee

like option to brew own coffee but these filters plug up very easy, a must to keep very clean or wont brew your favorite coffee grounds would like to see a throw a way for brewing my own

Will not make things easier for you, just cheaper. It is very easy to replace this k-cup filter and the original k-cup holder that originally came with your Keurig. They slide in and slide out. This can be messy when you rinse the screen filter of the remaining coffee grinds, which then have to be cleaned out of the sink. Not much of the wet grinds come out when you bang it in the trash can. When it comes down to it, it should probably be cheaper, but it works. I would not pay a penny over $20.00 for it. The first one lasted about 3 years. We just bought a new one.

I bought a Keurig brewer as a Christmas gift and got the adapter to use with it; cost about as much as a pack of K-cups, but should pay for itself quickly as we can custom grind our own coffee beans to use with the system. I am used to the ease of dumping the coffee grounds from the metal basket on my cappuccino machine, the wet grounds tend to stick to the plastic cup of the adapter.
