Another particularly delightful set of films commented upon while running by Joel and his robot friends. Steve Reeves in Hercules (Heracles they so academically point out) tries to fulfill his labors while keeping his mind on them. Also included are 3 other good (because they are so bad) films which we are trying to discipline ourselves to one a week. Marooned's cast includes Greg Peck, Gene Hackman & several other ""Stars" trying to act their way out of a turgid script. Marriott Hartley (it's not clear whether she has 1 or 2 navels) is one of the astronauts wives. The 2 remaining films we are "saving" for a blue day when some laughs would do wonders. I've been hounding the guys in the DVD section of my local Best Buy to stock some MST3K titles for over 2 years, so when I ran across this set of four I snapped them up immediately. Watching the show is like visiting a Boston Flick Emporium with a crowd of witty Harvard undergrads whose less than sotto voce comments make any film a hilarious delight. Buy this collection for "8 hours, + or -" of delightful diversion from the drivel of network television. Warning, Joel, Tom Servo, Gypsy, cam-bot and company can be addictive...you're going to want more, and well you should. They're great for repeat viewing as well, because you miss half the jokes the first time through because you're laughing so hard. Fun is so hard to find, and "brainy"" fun even harder. Bug them at Best Buy to stock more, but be sure to get there before I do or they'll be gone.

The latest volume of the MST3K franchise is another winner. Joel and the 'bots take on four movie "gems" - "Radar Secret Service," "San Francisco International," "Hercules" and "Space Travelers." The cheezy "Hercules" is strongly so-bad-it's-good that it hardly needs the commentary. "Space Travelers," also known as "Marooned," was an inexplicable mess of a movie with such major stars as Gregory Peck and Gene Hackman. It's great to watch our gang try to make sense out of cinematic train wreck. "San Francisco International" is a shameless ripoff of the "Airport" movies of the '70s that, with the MST3K treatment, is almost as funny as the parody "Airplane." "Radar Secret Service" would be unwatchable without Joel, Crow and Tom Servo.

This is another great collection of favorites from the TV series Mystery Science Theater 3000. Highlight for me was the movie titled "Space Travelers", which is really the big-budget Hollywood movie "Marooned". Seeing the guys skewer that pile of hokum was pure gold.

If you've never seen MST3K, get this & try it now. This has always been one of my favorite shows. It ran through most of the 90s, so some of the jokes & references are a little dated, but they still make me laugh. I am sure they'll make you laugh, too.

Set contains four more MST3K episodes. Includes one of my favorite lines from the series, "Davy, I'm the last man you'll ever speak to."

Four pretty solid episodes here, and how often do you get to see the boys riff a movie with Gene Hackman or Greg Peck? Check it out.

I will always love mst3k. It's hilarious if you have an open mind about comedy and love to make fun of terrible movies.
