Mehh
Posted .Install is as easy as plugging both adapters directly into the wall (no power strips!!) BUT, for some reason the internet just doesn't work well with my setup. Im using this as a backup for when I want to stream video to my TV, which it seems to work fine for since WIFI cannot keep up, but browsing the web is slooww. See the ping TIME pictures below... one is with the powerline adapter (600+ms ping times) and the one with 40-60ms ping is wifi.. a much faster response when loading websites. I dont know whats wrong, but every computer I try the powerline kit on does this. Also, I am just the next room over from the router where the primary powerline adapter is.

I did not think it would work, but it did.
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI needed a networking solution that was better than wireless (because of the distance involved) and better than temporarily running over 100ft of CAT5 across the yard. So, after researching powerline ethernet, I decided to give it a try. I was pleasently surprised once I plugged the adapters in, one in the house and the other in an RV parked approx. 100ft away. The only connection between the house to the RV is 220V AC. I really did not think it would work becuase of distance, power phase, and going through multiple circuits. BUT IT WORKS! All be it, with the highest troughput rate of 17 to 18MBps, I am happy with the results. I did, however find one outlet in the RV it will not work from, could be becuase of noise, incorrect wiring, who knows. But I'll stick with the power outlet that works for now.

Netgear "85 mbps" Powerline network bridges
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI've had my 2 Netgear Power Line adapters running for just about a month now i think and i haven't had many troubles. The only issue is deepening on what is on the same power circuit might make the network cut out momentarily. I have 1 Unit in my Garage and another in my basement for the uplink. Works quite well but my bathroom on the main floor uses the same circuit so when the washer runs it will cut out the network now and then. I'm guessing when the washer goes to spin cycle and pulls more AMPs. Other than that it sofar works excellent. it would be a huge project to get a network drop into my garage and sometimes a USB/PCI wifi card can't be the solution. (hardware based Security DVR with wired lan capability) I can watch all 8 of my camera's without any issue, normally getting around 45mbps (5MBps) which is fast enough for normal use.

Never been happier with a purchase in my life!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendMy summary states it all. This is the best value I have ever found. My purpose was to connect my Xbox 360 downstairs with my Apple Time Capsule upstairs. I had the generation 1 Xbox 360 wireless adapter, and it was worthless. Wouldn't hold a connection and always crashed my PC when trying to connect to Windows Media. I was hesitant to try the new Xbox 360 wireless adapter, so I thought I'd give these Netgear boxes a try. Within 10 minutes, I was up and running. All it takes is finding an empty AC outlet, plugging it in, and connecting the unit to the Xbox or the Time Capsule. That easy! The Xbox connected right up, no configuring required! As far as I can tell right now - no lagging in gameplay. Highly recommended!

This works REALLY GOOD
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI was having major problems with my PS3 and XBOX 360 connecting to my wireless internet being the distance from one end of my house to the other was to far. I bought several other products and they either didnt work or the range was just as bad. The xbox name brand wireless router is not even close to this. my house is 1400 Square feet from one end to the other and I use this to play my games and there has been no drops in my gaming. I also watch netflix on my xbox with this and I will tell you that this item streams video just fine at that range. It took all of 5 mins. to hook up. (if that). Its as simple as 2 plugs. I only have one downfall. My computer is in my room and the router too. Sometimes my children like to watch movies on netflex when I go to bed. While I am sleeping the lights blink like crazy. This is a minimal issue as all routers do this. Anyways, If you are looking for a GREAT gaming router to extend your range or even just need the wireless router then this is deffinately the one. Like I said I have tried several other Gaming routers and range extenders and this thing really works. I would certainly recommend this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easiest installation ever.
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis device is amazing. No configuration, no software to install... you just plug Ethernet cable from the device of interest (e.g. Slingbox, TiVo, game console) into one brick and the Ethernet cable from your router to the other brick. Then plug both into the electrical sockets in your home. When the blue LED is on, you know the bricks are talking to each other. Performance with my Slingbox is just as good as when it was directly connected via patch cable to the router. I cannot think of any other computer peripheral I own that was this easy to install and worked as expected the first time.

Gets the job done
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendGreat price, easy to setup and use, works for most everything, the only problem I had was when I tried to stream my u-verse box, I get a little lag. Now that u-verse offers a wireless box though, it's not an issue.

Easy to use, but drops download speed
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendBought this after trying a Range Max N to resolve dead spots in our wireless network. The Range Max N was no better than our Range Max G Mimo. The Powerline units were a snap to set up and use. Connected to the cable modem, plugged in that unit, then the second one. Had connectivity right away. Allowed me to move the wireless access point to the center of our house and solved my dead spots problem. However, a check of download speed showed that it dropped from 7Mbs when hardwired to the cable model to 2 Mbs on the powerline unit.
Q: QuestionIs a phone jack needed? You still need a phone jack with this to have wireless DSL, don't you? The desktop is in a room without a phone jack.

- A:Answer No, you don't need a phone jack. It runs through the electrical wiring, crazy as that may seem. You do need to be able to plug in an ethernet (CAT5) line, so either to your modem or through a router.

Q: Questionenthernet adaptorin trying to connect my router to modem and computer, I get the message that I don't have a enthernet adaptor. Is this the product I need
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Turn everything off. Turn on cable modem, then turn on router and plug the WAN/Internet port of the router into the cable modem. Then plug the computer's ethernet port into one of the router's lan ports. You should only need this if your wired connection won't reach from the router to the computer or you don't want cables all over the place. This component is the equivalent of a cable.
