Best Investment During Quarantine
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re a beginner photographer like me or just like to take visually appealing photos, this is the camera you want to get. I did research for some time and website after website, review after review; this camera was the one that stood out not only because of the cost but because it’s very user friendly, light in weight and its battery capacity. I take it with me everywhere and I’ve produced some of my greatest photos with it. You won’t regret this purchase!

Awesome entry level camera!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got my new Nikon D3500 in yesterday and immediately jumped into it. This camera is super user friendly and is ready to go right out of the box. This is my first DSLR camera EVER and I manage to get these cool shots. The Auto feature is great for beginners like myself but I did a lot of learning even before buying the camera and I decided to take the leap and start off in manual mode. I highly recommend you guys do the same because it unlocks this camera to another world! I feel this camera will be with me for a long time and I like that I can change out the lenses and it allows me to grow. If you're still thinking about it? Don't. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent camera for beginners
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decided to take up a new hobby while “sheltering-in-place.” As my sister is a photographer, she recommended this camera for me. I love it! Very easy to use and understand; instructions are easy to follow. I love how my pics automatically upload to my iPhone. I also signed up for an online photography class, so I’m really getting acquainted with my Nikon. I recommend it!

Bought as a backup camera, surprisingly good.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I actually bought this as a B-roll camera for some location video, and as the base DSLR in Nikon's lineup it has some significant limitations— especially for video. The lack of a microphone input is a bummer, and I miss having a Manual-Auto Focus switch on the kit lens, but having said that, the autofocus is much quieter than a similar but older Nikon 18-55 zoom I have. And since I record audio separately anyway (as anyone doing quality audio would) the lack of a mic input is not that big of a deal. For still photography it's really terrific— quite light and small, with some very intuitive automatic modes. And I LOVE the ability to override autofocus with a quick grab of the focus ring. Even at full price it's a great value, but when you get it on sale— it's a steal. One more thing: the face-tracking focus is really effective!

New and Improved over the D3400
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had the D3400 for about two years and love the camera, so decided to get the new version, which is essentially the same camera. Everything works as expected. This is a great starter camera. And, Nikon does not disappoint. It has quality built into it. An added feature is that it now has wireless. But, for the most part, this is essentially the D3400, with a few tweaks. So, this review is basically for both cameras... The D3500 (or D3400) has a lot of great features. I prefer to use the Raw files, but you can get a lot of excellent photos using the Effects button. If you have PhotoShop, you can do similar later on, but if you have a good idea for visuals and don't have time for PhotoShop (or access to it), I recommend giving the Effects a try. I've gotten some "Wow" shots using it and the only downside is that they are jpg only (not raw), so what you see is what you get. Other than that, this is a good, dependable camera that will not disappoint, and it will provide years of reliable use if taken care of. Here's a photo that I just took today. Just a quick basic shot...

Great beginner camera
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently purchased 2 of these cameras for the girlfriend and I. Bought this and the kit that included the large zoom lense. Camera takes great detailed photos and the photo sync with my phone is a great feature. Advice I’d give is to skip the more expensive kit with the zoom lense and use the saved money on a 50mm fixed lense if your using it for an all around camera. The 300mm lense has no vibration reduction so a tripod is recommended. Attached is a photo I took with my D3500 with 50mm lense.
