NGDS is a game that really showcases different play options that are available on the DS. The gang at Team Ninja have released another great game. The book hold & stylus play sets this game apart from other action titles on the DS. You esentially slash using the stylus across the enemies to fight and then drag the stylus to move around. At times when fighting lots of enemies you're down to pretty random scribbling, when fighting bosses you really learn to finesse all the moves to get your hits in. While not as punishingly hard as Ninja Gaiden released for the XBOX & PS3 The challenge does ramp up quite a bit as you get into the higher hidden difficulty levels. Graphics are a little lax, but the gameplay itself more than makes up for it. Biggest complaint I could come up with was the lack of initial challenge ( Normal is way to easy ) and at times when you're far from the camera it's hard to slash the right monster.

Stylus-only combat keeps you engaged by letting you string together loads of dazzling attacks
Brilliantly captures the spirit and tone of the previous games.
The level of challenge, especially in boss battles, is underwhelming
Some level designs create occasional control issues.
Great game. visual, and sound are great. the best i've seen so far for the DS.
smooth-as-silk visuals and sword-slashing sound effects.
And while it may have its problems, the gameplay does a pretty good job of keeping up, matching most of this brilliance with a compelling adventure and stirring, combo-stringing stunts that are thick with thrills and kills.

I origianlly got NGDS because i was a fan of the originals and the one on the xbox, but when i actually started playing the game I was a little disappointed. The game plays well, even though i think they should have not used the stylus option, but the game is not at all challenging game playwise, it only becomes difficult when your facing alot of enemies and you have to use the stylus. It doesn't compare to the other games in regards to challenge and it is way to short. I literally beat the game in one day.
